Posted Sunday June 20TH 2004: 1:15US PST

Welcome to the cgtalk sketch group.

Due to the vBulletin upgrade the Daily Sketch assignment for Saturday June 19th went unposted. Therefore, I decided to throw this one in there as an extra assignment for anyone interested. Have fun!

These are the rules:
* Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
* 640 x 480 or 480 x 640
* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" o plagiarizing.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!
* Ill post ANOTHER thread to quantify and track WHO has participated the most on these threads.

Good luck

PS To submit your topic ideas and suggestions go to this thread:

Good one Kirt, I was going to suggest it during the week.

software : photoshop
time : 25minutes

comments : I'm afraid I was rather unoriginal, having been very busy over the last week I haven't really had time to enter any of the daily sketch threads. Anyhow, this is a bit of photomanipulation....I think thats allowed!!

this is what the picture looked like originally...I don't really look like the picy above :D

Painter, 1 hour

Thanks to all the great painters on here, I'd never even attempted this kind of quick paint style 2 weeks ago.

06-20-2004, 12:59 PM

Are you really that tall, iamintricate? Very nice so far, guys =). Ima try to do one this afternoon.

Well, since I don't think you can use 'pre-made' stuff for entries, this is not my entry; but Ima post it anyway... I'll do a different one later.

Pencil/paper/5-15 hours (not exactly sure). My best friend and I.

06-20-2004, 02:01 PM

I'm Orr Kislev.
This is My First Post at the Daily Sketch, and, actually, my First post ever here (CGTalk Forums)! Hurray!
well... I wanted to join the Daily Sketch for a couple of days now, but didn't find the Time.
so... finally, at midnight, the night before a very big exam, I had it! a "self portrait" drawing.
15 minutes, photoshop, wacom tablet.
It looks nice, but I know I can do better. But - It's a daily sketch, It doesn't supose to be perfect.
oh, the blue shirt with the red thing is the "Noar Oved Velomed" shirt, wich is like the "Bonim Dror", but in israel - it's a youth movement, like the boyscouts, but different...
anyway - I Love You All!

06-20-2004, 09:35 PM
Here's mine, I made myself look a little more weighty than I actually am - maybe I'll do a second one later.

Speaking of self portraits - I am completely unable to get an avatar. I go into my options but the only one available to me is "do not use avatar." Is there a post requisite or some other thing that I have to fulfill before I can get one? Thankee to any who can help me out.

1:15 in PS w/ WACOM tablet.

I really like this one, its nice to see all those self portraits and with that the faces behind the names..Anyway, here's mine..Done in Painter with a wacom, +- 1hr..As you can probably see I got fed up with the coloring so its not really done, but I thought thats no problem since this is supposed to be a sketch thread anyway :).
