View Full Version : Vehicle:Photorealistic New Mini

Hi comrades
Here is a project I have been working on at my spare time between office projects.
Its my first car, I hope you all like it. Made in Lightwave using subdis.
No radiosity or any kind of layout plugins were used, straight out of the render.
The reflection on the car is made using an HDR image.
PS:Thanks to the great coleague and great artist Loganarts, for giving me some space on his ftp.

PS2:I dont have a personal 3d website yet(under construction), a hobby of mine is playing
"music", check my bands website.

When the complete animation is
ready I will post it, here is a "teaser". (9MB .MOV)

The modell and textures on it look really great! The only problem is the ground. Texture is far too pixelated and the big blocks make the car look toyish.

I agree, but I like the ground. =)

nice car, love the modeling, shading and lighting. My only crit is that I agree with creature, the environment makes the car look like a toy, its sooo tiny...hehe.

Overall though, great job.

Its the heavy use of depth of field that makes the car look tiny, not the ground... It would be pretty damn hard to get that kind of depth of field in the real world at the time of day and scale of object you're going for. Otherwise, the car looks great.

Congratulations, Antonis!

You've made an impressive work! It's you first car but it's totally pro.

It's good to see such a great use of lightwave's features. I use it and I love it :) even more now with LW 8!! :D

Call you post some wires and talk 'bout your modeling techniques? I'm planning to model a mini cooper too, but I'm not that good with "non-organic" modeling...

BTW: I agree with neonoodle... but it's easy to fix that. ;)

best regards from Brasil!

Great Job Adonis :) I'm simply impatient to see your next model..
Keep up the good work...

Very nice indeed. The headlights are superb. They are very realistic. Did you use separete reflection map for them or all the reflections are natural, coming from the raytrace engine.

Superb work man I am waiting for more

What soft did you use to put the car in motion.

PERFECT!!!

actualy its not the blocks making the car look toyish. Its much easier then that to makeit look good. Your camera perspective is set wrong, making hte car feel to small, the scale of the car gets lost. YOu could take full size pictures of a real car and give them the wrong perspective (if there was a way... big lense diamater maybe? ) ... What you need to do is scale the camera down, or increase the effect of perspective, play with both abit.

other then that the car has the details :D
