View Full Version : Animation: Mr. Insensitive!!!

Here's my latest animation... it was my final project in an animation class I just finished up. The audio clip is from So I Married an Axe Murderer.
The animation was done in Maya.

Oh yeah, the character (Milt) isn't mine, I just animated him. I got Milt from my teacher and I'm not sure where he got him from, but I do know he re-rigged Milt and all that jazz....

so anyway... enjoy :)

Comments/Crits are ALWAYS welcome! :)

Good job. Was this for a class? Your lip syncing is dead on and I love the hand gestures in relation to the rest of the body. I have a great feel for weight throughout the entire thing except for the end (The walk seems a little light).

Okay, some crits:

Why is he never _really_ shouting? He would certainly have to open his mouth a lot wider in certain frames - Exaggerate! That's why you should love CG.

The eyes... you don't give them enough feeling. You know, you have really nice poses for the body and weight's also there, but the facial animation is pretty weak. I had the feeling that his face never completely fits to the text passage you chose.

Adjust the mouth, eyelids - That's so important here. The rest is pretty good, I like it, but I'd _really_ go in there again and work on the facial expressions!

hey guys, thanks for the crits! And I appriciate the time you took to give them. :)

AtmaWeapon - Yeah this was for my Advanced Animation class at The Art Institute of Portland. You know, of all the crits I've gotten, no one had said much about the walk at end... but looking at it again... I think I see what you're saying. I'll go back and try to address that issue. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thomas Mahler - yeah you're the second person to say something about the mouth shapes.... and yeah I think you're right... it really should be more exaggerated in areas. And I agree the facial expressions need to be pushed much farther also.

Thanks again guys for the crits! Keep em comming
