after working on the some more ideas i finally came up with a vision i was happy with. kinda like a spider hanging down from his web.

I studied alot of Egpyptian art for color and how it should fit with the design and besides gold i thought blue would look great. at this point i'm still trying to figure out do i want to paint it loose or tight

cool idea! I like the choice to try out the blue on the piece too but you migt play it down a little so it doesnt look too much like a transformer toy or something. Maybe cuz the background is blue too? Its just too lue right now but it is a good idea as a break from the norm with how egyptian outfits tend to be colored all gold and brown.

It's a nice start, but maybe you could decide on an area you want the viewer to look at, and intensify that section with the hi-lights you have going on already. At the moment you have hi-lights on every element of your machinery.......not allowing the eye to rest in one place.

I think this piece has real potential if you diffused the light a little.

Just a thought

I'll come back to your thread Tomorrow, to give any last crit, on the build up to final submission. I'd appreciate any last crits on mine, also.
