View Full Version : mathematical function to 3d surface

Does anybody know of any program or easy method for converting mathematical functions into 3d surfaces which I can open, manipulate and render in maya (or some other software if necessary). Basically I want to be able to type stuff like x^2+y^2+z^=1 and get a sphere (obvioulsy I intend to use it for much more compex funxtions, but you get the point).

i just read about a proggy called gnuplot, which renders functions to 3d-graphs but i don´t know whether it can export them to another formats. it´s freeware.
