been a while since my last posts. i wanted to share these few artworks with you.
concept inspired by the game i'm working on right now.
book covers for jack vance emphyrio
done for another jack vance novel
double cover for the french release of donald kingsbury's psychohistorical crisis. divide in the middle and you'll obtain two covers for the two books. (part 1 & part 2)
covers for robert silverberg's space opera
i hope you'll like all of these.
Hi sparth! nice to see u around! (mitsui)
This is all stunning work!
You deserve frontpage!!!
06-05-2004, 03:27 PM
amazing work! On some places the detail isn't too high (sketchy almost) but the lighting and composition compensate for this. Stunning mood. Love this.
06-05-2004, 04:09 PM
Very good work, as always!
Nice to see you back, I always enjoyed your artwork and the process-pictures of some of your paintings you put on your site were very helpful for me :)
06-05-2004, 04:12 PM
looks very amazing, pal.
well done. I like the city most (the others are also great).
06-05-2004, 06:02 PM
Wouhoo, that s a style that i really apreciate and enjoy watching it during loooong minutes  . Can i .. ask you what kind of brushes you re using ?

Soon to Be Front Pager...
I think this work is inspring, stunning, and original.
I love the inside of that tent....
06-05-2004, 09:25 PM
I love the first one the most , but they are all vary good work .
06-05-2004, 11:06 PM
If these don't belong to the front page I don't know what does, awesome work once again Sparth!
06-05-2004, 11:57 PM
Sparth! I love your colors... these are great!
My favorite is the third one.
and yes this deserves a frontpage indeed!!
06-06-2004, 01:31 AM
incredible! simply incredible!
06-06-2004, 09:23 AM
06-06-2004, 10:30 AM
Breath taking scenes. All have great lighting and a sense of deapth
06-06-2004, 01:50 PM
These are beautiful indeed!
How you can create depth with just a 'few simple brushstrokes' and correct use of colors... just amazing
My favorites are the first (because of the great lighting) and the 4th with the big planet in the background (because of the roughness whilest still giving the illusion of great detail, depth and space)
... but each and every one of them rocks!!! :buttrock:
06-06-2004, 05:17 PM
Beautiful colours and moods. Amazing work. :applause:
06-06-2004, 06:59 PM
Bon que dire a part que j'ai plus qu'a couler mes crayons et mon pc dans du beton :)
06-06-2004, 07:02 PM
We would appreciate it when people would use the "Report this post to a moderator" link when they think something should be on the front page, instead of asking for it in a post.
The mod team.
btw, very nice work and I plugged it,
the first pict is by far my favourite. Congrats. Excellent mood, light, character. Everything. Like it a lot.
The other ones are good two but a bit "classical". yeah, i know. that doesn't mean anything in fact...
06-06-2004, 07:20 PM
I really love this style and is my ultimate aim..to be able to put across so much atmoshpere and detailwith such carefully or skillfully placed strokes is genius.
06-06-2004, 07:22 PM
Truly brilliant work Sparth. The tones are excellent throughout. Breaking it down it looks strikingly simple but for some of us I think it would be anything but!
06-06-2004, 07:40 PM

Each of these pictures will be my wallpaper consecutively for the next month.
06-06-2004, 08:55 PM

Very cool, don't miss your step by step tutorial of the coverpic for "donald kingsbury's psychohistorical crisis" on sparth's site.

many thanx to all you mates for these kind messages.
gnou: i usually use one or two regular photoshop brushes, and later on, a few custom ones. not a large quantity. 5 or six brushes max.
DANKA: this one took me some time, i did a few other compositions before finding something that would please the book publisher. hard to evaluate the time spent on the piece, as it began three or four weeks ago, and ended last friday approx.
Ephesus: all done in photoshop :D
take care you all
