WOW!!!
I'm at a loss for words, you win...
How if I may ask did you do that (the transformation I mean) ?!? I mean did you use envelopes, fade ins and outs maybe?

Please guys....

This is NO Transformers, Not Jet fire (What is that?) This is MACROSS! And this vehicle is called VF-1J Valkyrie. The pilot of this mech is Hikaru Ichijo.

YOU TELL EM FreeDNA!!!!

hahahaha

No disrespect to Transformers cuz I love em too, but Jetfire was a licensed rip from the MACROSS series. As is such, you have to model it in the Bandai Chunky Monkey style to truly be Jetfire by TAKARA. At any rate, I may do a Jetfire skin just for the hell of it.

As for the transformation... envelopes...? fade ins....? this is just keyframing, nothing more. Not even a skeleton rig for animation, have not learned that yet.

No Cy Clones, but it would cool to try and make one since the proportions never really worked out for a real world model or toy. Someone on this baord did a non transforming one once.

That transformation is AWESOME! :applause:

Question about the leg transformation though: The legs come completely free from the body of the thing and then re-connect at the end with snaps or something? When watching the video, the joints seem to break apart and then connect at the end. :D

Been registered for over a year and have been admiring everyone's work on this forum. First post here and I have to say that you did an awesome job on the transformation. I, too, am a huge Robotech (Macross) fan.

The transformation is looking nice but It could be more dynamic, vary up some of the speeds on various parts and sections. Of course getting a working skeletal rig in there would be fun too!

Great job, but should the legs actually disconnect from the body completely like that?

WOW! I am totally impressed! It would look even cooler if you added a floor and a shadow...

The legs do completely disconnect from the body. There are supposed to be pistons that lever the legs into place and detach once the connectors from the nosecone attach but I've not figured out how to properly animate that yet so it was left off this animation. Hope to get it in eventually.
