I think that work and title says all :)
I wanted to do some hard stuff but when I was
thinking on concept couple of little gnomes
in the outside were playing and screaming awfully
so I got mad( a little) and started to think about
Wallace and Gromit stuff instead and this came out :) ...

I love the idea and layout...this will be a cool image when finished...beware though...I am sure you will get coments that the "machine" part isn't integrated enough... The rule seems to lean more towards "integrated" mechanical stuff opposed to "connected" stuff...
06-04-2004, 04:51 PM
I think that the integration comes into play with the guy on wheels. Or is he a robot? I'd like to see an explanation of your idea for the next round. It's a great idea.
06-05-2004, 06:23 AM
agreed, I believe the guy on wheels should meet the requirements.
nice exotic style. I'm gonna bookmark this and wait for the colored version!
06-05-2004, 08:20 PM
I made only first plan as line art becouse I will do the second in different technique probably.
06-05-2004, 08:55 PM
This guy is half living form and half cybernetic - it is mixed idea becouse I
wanted it to look a little high tech and a little mechanical(archaic) those things on the children heads will be kind of nailed and it will be more seen when colored.
Monkey is full mechanical - it's purpose is to hit the drum and make frequency/ speed of the moving :wip: hehe
06-05-2004, 09:06 PM
I don't know what is going on but I have some problem with replaying (first was problem with logging) when overcome this
I will replay again
06-10-2004, 09:26 AM
I had to make a bit high contrast colors first to mark the details and make selections.
06-12-2004, 08:00 AM
I added first part of shadows on different layer becouse I don't know if those colors will stay like this
06-13-2004, 10:36 AM
I've erased most of the contour, changed some of the colors and next
I made some simple airbrush efects
to mark the materials
06-14-2004, 08:16 AM
hahahahahhahahahahaha loved the idea..
06-14-2004, 09:34 AM
Funny concept!:D Interesting to see final result.
Good Luck! My machineflesh entry (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=131505&perpage=15&pagenumber=4)

haw! I like the monkey up front! :P Like the idea. No critique on the drawing, all looks good to me. Wow you banged this out fast. Only in a couple weeks, nice!
06-14-2004, 08:54 PM
Thaks to all for your response :)
I would post more frequently but really I have very little free time to do/end this...
I changed some of colors again.
Basiclly all efects like the metal were done with emboss inner efect - I created kind of bumps, his jacket was colored using only three colors and contrasted with burn tool.
Also I used the inner emboss on trousers but it is barely seen I will extract it probably later.
06-17-2004, 11:29 AM
I erased all contours, I am using only airbrush and inner bevel, I added most of efects,
also I redirected source of light but still have to extract it harder...
06-17-2004, 10:45 PM
I changed some of the shapes, I correct all lights and darken shadows by burn and dodge tools.
06-18-2004, 12:20 AM
So at last ended, I had very little time to do it right and it was kind of
experimental technic becouse normally
I don't use things like bevel in colouring, but metal is not bad I think I obtained the impression that I wanted, only I am sad that I couldn't detail it more (and more) :)
