View Full Version : Character: Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil

05-30-2004, 11:47 PM

Here is a larger version of the image (

Finally, finished her. But I'm sure I could do better and fix and tweak her till she's perfect. .. one things for sure in the future i'd like to make a better rig for the body mesh. Maybe sooner than later ill look into it. What do you all think about the likeness of the character to the actress?
Comments? Suggestions?

This was made in 3D Studio Max and Photoshop

hehe. Here are some resident evil screenshots that I used for reference. Alot of the photos she's in (glamour stuff), she's lit differently so she looks different all the time. But i've been using plently of good shots.

The hair I made is a simplified variation, only because doing each curl would take a super long time. Ill post some close ups of the face soon.

Maybe you could try turning the model to the same angle as the photo and overlay a screenshot?

thats a nice model, I can see no errors, maybe because I am a beginner ;).
I also like Milla  , but I think your model doesn´t look much like her(maybe you could post a render of her face). I once tried :D to model her too, but...
I don´t know if you gonna change her, but if you will here ( are some reference pictures I have collected. I just thought they could be usefull.

1. Neck and chin in profile are close together. Needs more spacing.
2. Brow protudes in profile. Get screen captures of Milla in profile for this one.
3. Needs indentation between lower lip and chin in profile.
4. Jaw is large and bulky in profile.
5. Skin should be pale like the reference image. Use Photoshop's color sampler for this one.
6. Thigh should be thicker at top and taper at the knee in the side view. Currently the side of the thigh is uniform in thickness in the side view.
7. Dress clips through the left calf.

Sorry for the long delay in posting updates, what with all sorts of projects going on at the same time.
Here is CU shot of her face, a portrait shot.

I have to agree, it doesn't look like her at all. I'd say get some good side/front shots of Milla and use them as templates.

Hey, nice work so far - I really like the detail you've gotten out of your model. I agree with the rest though, her face needs some work. I have a template of a front/side picture that might help, but its at home. I'll post it tonight when I get back.
