My face in 3D.
Created in max using Sub-D. Textures were mostly painted in. Took about 3 days to complete.
In some diffenrt lighting situations.
This was my frist attempt at "photorealism". Like to know how well I accomplished this.

How do you expect us to comment on how far you got? At least most of us have no idea how you look like...
Well... so far I might say your hair looks like leather...

aahh darn. your right. I didnt think of that. I will put up an image of myself so that comparisons can be made.
Also about the textures, I really am not to happy with them. Primarlly because they were painted and not taken from photo refs. I had much improve in my mastery of texture work. I agree with you, it does look like leather. Should consider using a hair simulator for next time.

you did a great job of the side burns

Looks kinda cartoonish, might be because of the leather hair...
Or it might just be you that looks cartoonish in real life? ;)

There are times I not sure weather Im a cartoon or not.
I completely agree with you. This came out more as an illustration then a photoreal image. This is due to texture. This was made before I got myself a digital camera.
I think using reallife texmaps would make alot of differance.

I disagree. The most photorealistic texturmaps are painted. Because if you were to use photos, you'd have to dispatch of all the shadows etc. first.
Look at Dr Julian's Texturing Tutorial (http://www.3dm-mc.com/tutorials/maya/texturing/) for painting a great texturmap and at Leigh's page (http://leigh.cgcommunity.com/tutorials.htm) for explanations about surface-editor options

check lips and forehead, looks very odd , especially the lips looks like mr potato head stuck on , you need to get in there and sculpt it a little nicer to fom the corners of the mouth , check the chin as well . looks too flat , hmm also i know its subjective and everyones looks diffferent , but ears dont look like that man , anyways good start keep going
Ok if we don't see the ref pics we can't really say how close to the real you this is :)
The hair really has that fake look.
The first of the various light situations looks really cool ... it looks like a plastic-toy WazaR, really like it.
Tsc tsc ... and the eyes ... seems he hasn't done much sleeping lately ... ;) ;) eheheh jk!

ther is much work to do...
until now i can say...
that the hair...look like one pice...of wood...or plastic..
the skin is to solid try to add some bumbs and some spots...to make it more realistic...
the lips are to flat...try to add more "lip" that go a littel "outside" of the face
and i thinnk the chin is a littel bid...to forward...and the ear is to big...
well...as i said...ther is much work to be done:hmm:

Great feedback guys. Your comments and critics have been very helpful.
Very much appreicatied.
I agree with many of the things, I think I really need some updating on my texturing skills.
I have decided to come back to this model, and do a better job.
