Here is my sketch of a man and his surgically implanted wings. I did the wings seperate to work out what I wanted to do with them.
I tried to remember what I could from my vertabrate osteology class to build the structure of the wings. I drew the bones, then the flesh and feathers. Then overthat I drew the metal pplates that form the wings.

Here I combined the man and the wings. As well as dressed the man for combat.

Kinda like a modern day icarus, or are you going for the heaven on earth type of feel. Technology creating gods, angels as you called him.
Nice simple line work, keep the updates coming.

I do like the idea of technology creating gods, it sets the imagination turning.
However, the idea behind this piece was a universe where warring countries perform medical experiments on POW's. This man, Angel (spanish pronounciation), had wings surgically implanted by his captors.

The pose you are using looks nice and farily dynamic. Although im just wondering what hes doing, is he going to be sitting on something or areyou trying to make it seem as though he has just landed. I guess once you start work on the background we will get a better idea of whats going on.
The other thing i noticed is that hes missing his other eye and his head looks a little strange atm. but otherwise the proportions look pretty good, like with all concepts they just need tweaking.:D
Its looking great. Keep it going.

I’m not totally sure what you’re intending here, but if you want to have the figure looking as if he is poised in midair you could try rotating the image anticlockwise so that the right foot is pointing downward. Something worth trying anyway.
I’ll be looking forward to future posts.
