working on a creature of sorts. Digs in caves. still have to do some color sketches and 1 more sketch in some dramatic pose. I'm starting the modeling tonight so I should have something by tomorrow.

well got some modeling done. still a ways to go. i might make a high rez model to go with it. mabey. right now its at 2004 triangles. I may go up to as many as 5,000-10,000. I may redo the face , probably. Any crits comments would be great. thanks

Looks really nice, IMHO, but I think that it could use a little more bulk towards the hind quarters/rear legs.. As it is, it seems impossible that it could balance in the position that it is.. But that could just be me, and, of course, the laws of physics don't always necessarily apply!

thanks SirLuthor

well he will put most of his wieght on his hands. kinda like a gorrilla. but i'll add some bulk see how it looks. thanks man

cool character.
The problem I see is his arms. It has no elbow or any place where its arm should bend...and your model is the same way. That will cause problems in the rigging. Unless you have no plans to bend the arms/forarms, they will seem more fin like.

That's fine and all, and would work, as far as I can see, but for one thing.. How will he be putting wieght on his hands when he is digging? It's hard to imagine.. Anyway, umm, I look forward to seeing it a bit bulkier in the back!

thanks guys. well i think i will go back to the drawing board a bit. i think i will redo the elbow area and arms a bit. and make him a little more upright I think that will help the balance. and bulk up the rear section. I'll try and get some sketches up today.Won't be able to get to the model it till sun though. So any crits till then will be good. thanks for the crits guys.

Here are some more sketches that i had done. shows how he will balance a bit more than the first sketch. some updates as well. fixed the arm and made his hind side a bit larger.

Neat idea. I think what's bugging me is the mid-section. It almost looks like he's being stretched compared to the concepts. The area between his ribs and his pelvis looks long. I'd bring it in so the legs are more under him a bit. Would change his center of gravity and give more of that ape look to it you were going for.

Love the model and concept.
Cant wait to see skined

he is ready for a unwrap and texture. i got to clean up the morph a bit and that will be done as well. total triangles= 3182

skeen- thanks man. i moved his legs more and tried to make less room between his ribs and pelvis...but i may do it a bit more. thanks for the crit.

neomx on my way to unwrapping.

Look pretty cool. I would bring his back legs in closer and thicken his elbows from the front view. The legs seem too far back with such massive arms and the arms look nice and cut from the side angle but kinda weak from the front. Maybe you want it to look super cartoony but those are some changes to make it alittle more anatomically sound.

ya i'm going to restucture him , he is way out of balance. thanks beastie. and the others that kinda pointed this out for me. seems i didn't want to let it go. But it will be fixed.not sure when though had to jump the boat a bit.:( thanks guys
