wow great work, absolutely fascinating.
I hope it won't happen in real ...
no critics. very good work.

05-15-2004, 10:47 AM
thank you for your comment. crOss ^^

05-15-2004, 01:33 PM
wow that's great, and a very innovative way to combine 3d and 2d techniques. Very interesting piece :)

[edit] I just noticed that the broken glass is a little too monotome. With a crash like that, there usually isn't any glass left, or very little that is. It looks like someone threw a stone through all of them ;)

05-15-2004, 02:10 PM
very good image and accomplishment too :applause:

05-15-2004, 02:15 PM
Nice piece

My only comment is: Has this meant to of took place in that instance or a few hours ago?

If it was in that instance then there would be alot bigger waves and splashes

If it took place some time after would the all those waves still be occuring? i dunno :P

But good work anyway

05-15-2004, 02:18 PM
A good work, and I particulary love the little people.

05-15-2004, 02:22 PM
good crits~!! ^^ i really agree with you~!!

im blown away

05-16-2004, 07:53 AM
this is really cool, at first glance i thought it was exceptinoal with the 3d aspects, then figured out why lol, but really good way of doing it, acurate and really solid, good composition too, good focus, action, interest, and nice colours, two thumbs up man!

05-16-2004, 10:03 AM
Charlie Hustle, Everlost - thank you very much for your comments and crits. ^^

05-16-2004, 01:51 PM
mmmm, very nice, I like this one. Those little people are great.

However, this seems to be a pretty grim scene, and the colours seem a bit too happy for the mood... but that could just be that I'[m sitting ina dark room with the onyl light coming from my monitors, haha.
Also, I must agree with Garma and his glass comment, there shouldn't be that much left.

Great combination of 3d and 2d.

Once again, great job Pene Menn!

05-16-2004, 04:50 PM
also, i agree with Garma and his glass comment,
i like his glass comment ---> " It looks like someone threw a stone through all of them " :applause:

thank you very much for your comments and crits~ The_Magician ^^

05-17-2004, 06:46 PM
nice. i love seeing real things destroyed:buttrock: :buttrock:
i want to do the same thing with the hifi constructin here in dallas.

one comment, try and add some emotion to the peice. add a color overtone to the whole thing to give it a mood. throw a few flames in there from the devistation and i think you will hvae yourself a winner

05-18-2004, 03:09 PM
good crits~!! i really agree with you~!!
thank you very much for your comments and crits. da_rock21~!! :)

My Korean co-worker panicked when she looked over my shoulder at this image.

She was afraid for a moment it was the news. :D

so.....well done!

(Critique: I agree with the glass comment, that it should be 99% gone, reduced to dust like fragments. )

05-19-2004, 03:28 PM
Wow! Very awesome way of creating this awesome image! I always like the mood of a "desaster". Don't get me bad, but I just mean that bad organisation; that's an interesting mood you PERFECT show us in this pic!

Concratulations! :)

05-19-2004, 03:46 PM
Damn nice image!
I really enjoy this process friend!
The matte painting is loose but yet very pleasing!

Gotta try something like that here!

Great work. I have one question, after the second image in the progres image, everithing from that point is photoshop right?

05-19-2004, 05:17 PM
if we're going to get pick y about the glass, then we should get picky about the entire picture. The tower wouldn't be a tower anymore. That is, it would have the defined shape that it was given after the fall. Something that big wouldn't really look like anything after a fall of that distance.

But, I still think the picture look great and I like it very much.

05-19-2004, 05:21 PM
danielkenobi ~ Yes, it was photoshop.
but somtimes i use painter. i like painter's blending brush~!!
thank you for your comment. danielkenobi :)

05-19-2004, 05:24 PM
Nice image. You have made it so realistic...with all the cars and people. The mood you have is quite diferent to...it is not like in movies...it´s just ordinary sunlight and I think it makes it more real.

Congratulations for the front page to.

My only comment is: Has this meant to of took place in that instance or a few hours ago?

If it was in that instance then there would be alot bigger waves and splashes

If it took place some time after would the all those waves still be occuring? i dunno :P

It is not waves...it is the swiftly-flowing water.

05-19-2004, 05:38 PM
Now I can see!! You rock! :buttrock:
Congratulations! :applause:
It is an awesome image. Keep us posted about this SF project.

05-19-2004, 05:40 PM
For some reason, it looks a lot more powerful on the front page, cropped like it is.
When I saw the whole thing, it was still very well done, but it looks the boats are chilling (possibly fishing) and that everyone is kinda just like 'oh well. it fell' as appose to 'what the hell happened!??!'.

Windows comment = dead on.
Waves = kinda agree.

I just need to see more stuff floating in the water, and more dust and smaller bits of concrete strewn about to make it a complete destruction piece. Nice concept tough

05-19-2004, 05:48 PM
maxrelics, konst, Alexander.ar, Neil ~
thank you verrrry much for your comments, good~crits and congratulations ~!! :)

05-19-2004, 06:16 PM
I agree with the comment that the windows in the tower would be completely smashed out. The waves I can understand though, because it's a huge structure in the ocean, thus waves would likely crash against it as long as it remained in the water.

Still, good solid techniques and great rendering. I think it's a great piece for the most part. :)

Take it easy,

05-19-2004, 07:20 PM
just amazing I love it:thumbsup:

05-19-2004, 08:19 PM

05-20-2004, 01:21 AM
very nice idea!

05-20-2004, 05:46 AM
Great Work!!

05-20-2004, 06:13 AM
I think figure out in what point in time this happend.. The tower seems like it just fell because of waves and stuff.. But there are boats around it with people running to see it.. It doesn't really give a good "WHEN" statement

05-20-2004, 09:36 AM
Awesome image.....Advance level of painting. :applause:

05-20-2004, 10:36 AM

Your work is absolutley awsome. I love the the theme you keep in most of your pictures. It reminds me of anime movies where tokyo is always rebuilt and breaks again. They are really beautifull. I especially like this image and the pollen :)
Your one of my alltime favorite artists. Thanks once again for lots of inspiration
