Ok let's talk about the "concept" and excuse my bad english

The flesh is weak, and medical improvement will only protect or repair the mechanical part of the human body not the organs, so my characters are locked into a kind of armor that replace the bones and muscles, allowing to live in hostile environement, perform more works......
The organs are weak, brain, eye, the place where the 5 senses remains has to be protected by a closed helmet, only visually apparent organ are the stomach, intestine, beacause, we need to eat, and that the really only thing we are dependent upon, and mechanism of the digestion cannot be reproduce by mechanical part.

Well that more or less my point of view of biomechanical
