View Full Version : weeping angel

main concept isnt mine.

this angel is not too typical one, it isnt a child, nor a mature man, i've wanted to make him more "original".

this is my second poly model (i have been doing only NURBs models till now), so i would hear your opinion/comments about it.

Wow, I can't believe no-one else has commented on this :surprised

That's a really creepy angel...
Very well modelled though

I think the only part that doesn't look quite right yet is the left arm and hand - they look a little too square :)
But apart from that, I think it's a very good piece!
You should texture it!

Thanks Leigh!

but... it is textured :)

All textures were painted for 2K resolutions. THe image below and one in link are just rescaled from that 2K res. image.

WOW, great !

not much crits, just that the face kinda looks like an adult.

nice going though, keep it up !

good, but i also feel it like an adult
and he is a little too strong, don't be strong but a little fat,i think it's good for an angle

Excellent model. I agree with the others though. Think it might be that his neck is too long for a cherub. Or maybe his head isn't large enough for his body (for a baby).

Cool model though.

Try with bigger belly.

Great angel !!!
In my opinion the toes are too thin for
a big body like this.

08 August 2002, 02:34 PM
very nice !!! :buttrock:

Good job. I can't tell what that belt looking thing is. Is it holing on a fake penis? I can't tell because the bottom looks like it blends in with his skin. I think his mouth looks bad, the sides are too sharp, they should blend in more to his face there, also the mouths pose is impossible. Also his nose looks fake and stylized, while the rest looks like it's suposed to be realistic. His toes on his left foot I think should be pointed down in a relaxed way, instead of up like he's tensing his foot, that's a small thing though. Also his right for-arm looks kind of like Poppie the Sailor Man's, perhaps skinny it up a bit.

Did you wanted to make a anatomic-right human model or a gothic sculpture with this time's style and mistakes. Did you make it's body purposely wrong? :surprised

If yes - you almost achieved what you wanted. Remained only to make it look really old, I think you know how to make it...

Else I think you should study human anatomy much assiduously.

Lightning is very realistic, except the green reflections that should occur. And I really like the background!

Successful work otherwise!

thanks all for your critic

anton: yes, i didnt care much about anatomy. i havent seen human with wings ;) , so i decided to model the body my own way.

ezra: i wanted to make him look more comic, so i didnt care about realistic mouth pose

lyca: 100% true. foot fingers should be bigger, my fault. this thin fingers look idiotic =]
