Hi folks, this is my first thread in the finished gallery, although the image may not be 100% final. I dont remember what gave me the idea for this, since the original scene files (which i never showed to anybody) are dated Oct. 18th, 2001. A few days ago I just dug up the scene while sorting out bad and too old files and started working on it again.
A few people liked it, so i upload it here for the "big audience" of you ;)

Maybe I'll work on it, maybe not. Here you go:

Armes Ei, aber echt gut. Es würde mich allerdings auch interessieren, wie Du das Blut gemacht hast.

I really like it.

If there are a couple of things that I thnk could be tweaked, I'd say that the tip of the nail should also have blood streaks on it, since it passed through the egg.

It would also be cool to see a few splatter droplets and a couple of small shell fragments, to suggest that the nail passed through with some speed, and from the dripping of the nail tip.

Both are JUST suggestions, because I really like it how it is. :)

Gefällt mir echt gut!Besonders die Beschränkung auf wenige Farben sieht toll aus.
Und die Idee ist orginell.

great work!!!

maybe nail needs a little more pollish. What software and yeah, the blood, how did set that up? Softbody or particles/fluids?

pic is missing.... :surprised

no fluid dynamics or particles used, i polymodeled everything in this pic by hand, even the liquid.

software used was 3ds max with vray, the "blood" material is just an "egz glass" mat with dark red colour and a fairly high absorption value.

The pic is great but the blood reminds me of Red melted candle wax still in liquid form. I would think it wouldnt be so clear but thats just my opnion. Great Work!

I like it. The blood is modeled really well, but it looks like cough syrup to me. Also, the tip of the nail is way too sharp...put a more rounded tip and it would be perfect.

Nice idea, nice execution ;). I'm wondering if vertical cropping wouldn't be a bit better suited here.

nice work...agree with everything said above

I love your blood :D can you give us some instruction about texturing it?

04-22-2004, 07:32 PM
BLOOOOOOOOOOD. Seriously, that's awesome, especially considering you modeled it (I would have guessed particles). My only crit is that the blood on the lower left doesn't seem to be touching the floor (it might just be the way the caustics look). Also, the same spot seems too thick; it would only hold that shape if it was a clot, in which case it would be opaque rather than translucent.

the blood looks great with the exception of it's color. It appears to be too bright red on the right side where it's dripping down the side of the shell. It looks right on at the small puddle on the tabletop. Change this, add some blood on the tip and maybe some splatter effects around it, and you've got a winner. Good job!
