Alright, second small project I've done in Lightwave 3D version 7.0. This is for High School, I'm a senior... senioritis has kicked in viciously, specifically on the day that I was modelling this poor fellow's legs. As I sat there thinking about how I'd model his paws I just went... meh. I'll do it later! So I gave him globs for paws.
Well, the time as come. Later is now. I don't know how to model his toes! :surprised
Here's a look at it from a few angles as it is.
Does anyone have any advice on what method I should use to give him at least moderately detailed toes using the limited amount of points I have to work with? I'm passing in flying colors as is because I'm the only one in my class trying but... this is for my college portfolio! Help is grealy appreciated, thanks in advance.

it would be better to model the paws seperately and stitch to the open vertices of the leg.modelling paws is no different from modelling hands.i know it because i did the same for my puma project a while ago.

Yeah, I probably should have done that but it would have involved some planning... planning that I didn't do. On my head project I did a few weeks ago I used a method like that I believe, piecing together different parts of the face that I worked on separately, as the tutorial called for. Either way... I did end up coming up with something using Lightwave's Extender tool on the points in the areas where the toes should be. I ended up coming up with this.

if your using max to model your dog, then I would say just extrude, cut, and pull for a while till you get it to how u like it.:beer:

well I don't know but to help get rid of teh blobish look I would try narrowing them a bit

PS:It's for Xsi,but the tools used are the same...

Ah, the tutorial ended up not working... it would have helped too even though it's a dog. If anyone has a working link to that tutorial I'd appreciate it.
Also, I was modelling a mountain lion actually, while looking at a small statuette of our school's mascot. When I compare the two, the only thing that's really different is the thickness of the tail, small differences in the face such as the thickness of the ears and of course, the pose... etc.
I did try thinning the paws in the front a little and I think that helped, but I'm pretty sure I have the back paws mostly how they look in the statuette.
And Noc, I tried out using Extrude after you told me and if I had known that earlier it may have been a good idea to try it out... but I don't know if the extrude in Max and Lightwave act similarly.
