Well the competition is over, this is my final entry and I thought id post it here. Its Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump in, Forrest Gump :).

Its 3930 polygons with 2 texture maps, 1 256x256 and 1 512x512.

Hope you like it.

wow, looks just like him. He's a bit stiff in the back though. If his slouched just a tad he would look more realistic. Very nice though.

The hands seem a bit large and you should have spent more time on the head texture.. there is a very clear seam at the top.

I've seen some of the other WIP's in that contest, it's gonna be a tough one to win.

Thanks, the head/forhead is actually the same single texture and not divided up. That 'line' is actually a small problem i had with normals/smoothing. I, for some reason couldnt get the entire head mesh all smoothed properly, there were some hard polygons in an expanse of soft ones. No idea why

Great idea, Forest is a great subjet! Work a bit on the head texture, is not tom hank.

But very good looking!

very well done. You got to love Forrest Gump. I agree with fsanimate put a bit of a slouch on him it would be a more natural pose. good work

I mean this in a totally light hearted way -

You just made Forrest Gump look twice as stupid as he really is. He's even got a frontal labotomy and everything.

That 3D model looks like something in the videogame "The Sims"
