Hi there ive seen a lot of good works in the machineflesh and wanted to know how do I do some of the tricks....

heres some examples:

In this image I canīt seem to understand how can I do a hole in an rectangular figure!


In this one I wanted to know how to do and spline line that can follow and tube or something like this one!


An final how the hell do I model that wheels but in a way that I dont need to model those little peaces

all simple shapes m8, the first picture is a boolean, place a cylinder in the middle of a cube select them and subtract one from the other.

the second can be done with a helical mel scrpit or normal cv placement, and then u extrude a circle up the length of it.

Cogs are done using a number of ways, you could make a cylinder and scale in every other face :)

.. and afterwards.. in Maya I selected the rectangle first, then the cylinder. Then I choose Booleans - Difference..

in 3dsmax go to the create menu, and select compound objects from the list. Select one of the objects in the viewport and pick the boolean button under the compoud objects set. Select b-a or a-b subtraction based on if you selected the cylinder or the rectangle first. Now click "pick operand b" and select the other object. bamo.
