04 April 2004, 07:09 AM (

I plan on building a factory or city in the final image, to go along side the queen, just an idea.

04 April 2004, 07:32 AM
Pity I was looking forward to seeing this 3D, still nice to see that it lives on.

04 April 2004, 07:38 AM (

Ok, this is just a thumb nail. Itís to help out on the scale of this creature,

04 April 2004, 07:42 AM
pig water, donít worry if this dose turn out ok I will for sure make it 3d, just when I get my new computer, which I hope is soon, but it wont be in time for the contest, so its just going to stay 2d for now, but thanks for the interest,

04 April 2004, 09:32 AM

neat stuff

it's so wrong you can't do this in 3d

04 April 2004, 09:38 AM
holy moly!

This concept sketches rock!

I also would like to see them in 3d, but continue your superb job in 2d....

Can't wait to see the insects go color.

04 April 2004, 09:58 AM
wow, im glad im not in the 2d challenge , you can swept my work very easily, great drawings and concepts, i really like the mosquito one, ill be waiting to see your developement here,

04 April 2004, 10:10 AM (

Well Iím happy with this layout of the city, now I think itís time to work on the final.

04 April 2004, 08:03 PM
seems like 2d dose not get much feed back, :(

04 April 2004, 08:15 PM
i dont know why, your skillz are great!, i really like your last sketch, dont worry every one is going to see the great artist you are and theyll come... :bounce: and wich is the purpose for that creature?

04 April 2004, 12:47 AM (

For the final image I want a few cargo ships flying past the camera. So hereíre a few ideas that I have. Only one will make it to the final image.

04 April 2004, 12:51 AM (

Well, I like the way this looks, I will stick with this image for now.

04 April 2004, 01:36 AM (

Quick color layout

04 April 2004, 05:00 AM
I'm really glad to see that your trying something original. I have a fealing that there will be a boat load of human busts or full bodies with metal straping and tubes stuck in. :p

04 April 2004, 06:12 AM

04 April 2004, 06:53 AM
The good sketch

04 April 2004, 10:44 AM
Great atmosphere.

This was actually my first time i noticed your thread. Colors are great. Good use of "big & small" technique. Reveals the size for common people like me.

It will quite painful to paint the whole city.

04 April 2004, 07:41 PM
Newbie- cool thanks, thatís what I was trying to go for.

Mitrich and coolbird, - thanks, I appreciate your comments. Falcor_, yes the city will be a pain to color

04 April 2004, 08:47 PM (

just another update

04 April 2004, 11:58 PM
wow is looking great , are u going to keep the strokes for the final piece?

04 April 2004, 04:56 AM
Um, not sure yet. I will be playing around with different ideaís

04 April 2004, 05:27 PM (

Just another update.

04 April 2004, 10:36 PM

04 April 2004, 11:00 PM
Complete 2, donít say that, not true I think you will do fine and I look forward to seeing your work for this contest,

NinjaAssn, SideAche, thanks guys.

04 April 2004, 07:58 AM (

another update

04 April 2004, 09:55 AM
Yous have so much great designs you could make the contest alone !!!

Good luck for the city though !

04 April 2004, 08:45 PM (

Well, just to let every one know that I'm changing a few things around, this image is too plan, I need more action, maybe even some blood, so for the next few days I will be going back to some drawings. Thanks for all the nice words.

Here is a small image of an attack from one of the mosquitos; I might have to add them in the final piece

04 April 2004, 09:01 PM
wha ? huh ? k I mean I think I would've liked to see that city
finished instead of a mosquito attack , even though the attack
would just have been a part of the final image .

Then again I think you got so much skills and ideas that I
might regret seeing you finish the cityscape instead what
you would come up with otherwise ...

maybe you add the action to the city pic ? Or was that what
you were talking about ?

:surprised ?Ņ!!?

04 April 2004, 12:59 AM
Well the only reason why I think I should try something ells (not to say I wont finish this) I think this is too much of a environment and not a ďcreature designĒ so Iím thinking of working more on just developing a creature rather then spending large amounts of time coloring a city. What do you guys think, I have a few other ideas to work with, and should I just give it a shot??

04 April 2004, 10:50 AM
you could have the big creature have fleets of smaller
creatures serving it , being part of it , unable to survive
without it . These little creatures , maybe 3-5 different
kinds , would not be able to help the mother cretaure ,
but could take simle instructions from the humans , helping
them carry stuff , etc.
You could have them flying through the air , climbing the buildings,
building stuff , etc.

hey maybe when the big creature was healthy it could help
the humans in some struggle and signs of that struggle
could be seen in the picture .

Now with all this you could have maybe 3-7 creature designs
in the pic (+equipment designs , maybe a few plants here and
there ).

Work with this pic and sketch out and give more thought
to the other ideas , too, on coffee breaks or something :) .
One of them just might be yet even better than this ?

04 April 2004, 03:29 PM
Thanks buddy, thatís a very good idea.
I appreciate you help a lot.

04 April 2004, 12:43 AM (

Iím not going to say that I stopped work on the creature/city but for the past few days on my lunch break I have been thinking about something thatís more interesting. The two images below are of a power plant, main source of power will be a large heart, which helps run the turbines and what ever else. Just an idea that I was thinking about not sure if I will continue it. But I will do a few more drawings of this idea before I make my final decision.

04 April 2004, 01:45 AM
Great work....really solid!!! :bounce:

04 April 2004, 02:21 AM
ouch ... your lunch break scribblings are better than my
ready pics...

Anyways .. hey , that's pretty new stuff you got there

given any thought to why they got a heart and not a machine pump?

04 April 2004, 07:17 AM
Great concept sketches stuff you are doing isubscribe to your topic, i like a lot your style.:wavey:

05 May 2004, 07:33 PM (

05 May 2004, 01:00 AM (
