View Full Version : Divx slo-mo?

What's a good Divx player to watch timelapse videos is slow motion or even frame-by frame?

I was also looking for a player that could play videos in slow-motion. Since nobody hasn't answered yet, I did a small search and found the Global DivX player.
You can download it here ( You can set the play rate to whatever you'd like (in fps) but unfortunately you can't go through it frame per frame with the arrow keys like in quicktime.
Maybe there are better players, I dunno ? Anyone ?

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

You know, a guy on discreet's 3ds max hardware forum volunteered to write a player that has a slider bar to control playback speed. It goes from 0.01x real time to I think 16x. No frame-by-frame playback, but still convenient.

The programmer's name is Chris Seepe and his player is called SimplePlayer. You don't really need to install it, just run from a folder. You need a certain ActiveX control installed for it to work.

I'm not sure you can get to the board without signin:,3

When I download a timelapse modeling video I take it into Adobe Premiere and slow it down or watch it straight from Premiere because then I can go as slow as I want

you can use irfan view to slow down your videos down interactively. so while your watching you can use a slider to change the speed.

A-ha. Irfan view is pretty good, I haven't heard of it before. Why don't all of them put a slider in the player?

I tried Irfan and it's indeed a very nice player ! The great thing about it is that it can open nearly every video and image format.
And, dvornik, a slider to set the speed rate is indeed very handy ! :)
It only has one of the ugliest icons I've ever seen... ;)
Thanks for the tip, ambient !

CG channel is temporary partially down, you'll have to wait until it's back to normal. There's a link to it on his website under "notes":
