View Full Version : why bone flip whil swith RP ik To ScIK

i use maya5.0 and find it very strange i do know if my maya is
wrong . when i create a RPIK handle for a simple skeleton in a normal poisition with any poistion change just create the RP ik handle but when i select the RP ik handle adn in the attribute editor i swith to the SC ik Solver . the bone get streighten or flip
chaned very strang . in maya 4.5 it would not a problem .
and if i just swith RP to Sc the skeleton should not get any change because i nenver change the ik position
why in maya5 once i wtich RP to sc or from Sc to rp
would get such problem ?
maybe i get thing wrong some one could help me ??

try installing the 5.01 patch , that should solve the issue.

It's not a bug, basically what happens if your pole vector switches to 0 0 0 which causes this. I would just highly recommend knowing which one you want to use and using it. I always go with RP anyway, it's exactly the same as SC, but just with a few more options.
