I'm going to model good old Tony Montana from the film Scarface. I'll post some references soon.

Well say hello to my little friend. Good choice!

Done some of the head.
I'm having a hard job finding full body shots of Pacino in Scarface.
Anyone have any ideas where I can find some good pics? (I've tried google image search but it mostly returns the standard promo images and video covers)

I've ordered the Scarface DVD, so until it arrives next week I won't be doing any more work on him.

i think that so far the nose has pacino writen all over it.

Since you don't have an orthographic reference (exactly 0, or 90 degrees), keep in mind that you'll have to guesstimate on geometry. His browline should protrude more, and his neck meets the jaw higher. Pachino was pretty thin in Scarface.

Got my Scarface DVD and redid head. Still a lot of tweaking to do but I'm gonna give the head a break and start on the body.

Finished modelling the head except for the ears.... I was half-way through modelling an ear and I pressed some buttons by accident and Maya shutdown.... And I really don't like modelling feckin ears. Ah well. I tried to do a realistic high res head cos I want to try out normal mapping, never got it to work before. Did some of the body too.

Technically you should be able to use any full body shots of him? right? i mean he hardly ever changes in term of size in his movies. I would just change the clothes obviously, but the proportions would be the same.

The head looks good, but i would pull those eyeballs in more.

Yeah, I was looking for the full body shots so I could see the clothing. Have plenty now since I got the DVD.:)

Finished off modelling the head, there were loads of unnecessary polys, and body and did some head texturing.

i would reallu suggest trying to make your own texture instead of using photos.

right now i cant really see al pacino in the head model.
the model looks great but the texture messes thing up really bad.

I would suggest to give him a hairline so it wont look like he has a giant head.

as for the body.
looking at the ehad and the body it seems like it was made by 2 different people :)
you need to check the proportions, the arms seem Way to long.
give it some shape.

I agree with the the head texture part with the person above, unless you find some better photos.

There is only ploy under the nose and to the right that gives really odd shading.
