After few ideas I have keep this one.
This is a world where a lot of the people could be physically as they want.

They could change there hair, eyes, part of their body.
Theres is not really clothes because the suits ,the dresses are completely integrated with the body.
A lot of chirurgical modification are fashion in this world.
Here are characters of a "Fashion show".

04-13-2004, 10:16 PM (

04-15-2004, 10:06 AM (

I have just made this and I said to myself that it is going to be too much bigger..
Really too long to do all the picture like this.
So I'm going to change all, and create an other picture.
I hope that I can do that.

04-15-2004, 04:49 PM (

Here is my new concept.
There is a decadence in the biomechanic univers and people looking most like robot than humans.
I have the idea of this girl, touched by the human looks of this small tree.
I hope managing to create an illustration with a little of poetry.

04-15-2004, 05:30 PM
Youre pretty handy when it comes to coloring.

Do you work in full colors or in grayscale and color it afterwards like i do sometimes.

I also checked out your website. Pretty mad stuff you got there.

Have to admit that after i saw your riddick picture i thought i want high contrast pic with cool colors. So ill be trying something like that for my own entry.

04-15-2004, 05:43 PM
Thank you Falcor_ , I 'm always working in full color.
But it is certainly a good technique to work in grayscale for some pictures.

04-15-2004, 06:11 PM
Nice look of your work!
Keep uping...:applause:

04-15-2004, 06:39 PM (

The line

04-17-2004, 10:22 PM (

First step for the color.
I'm always doing the face of a character before all the rest.
After that I make the rest of the character and the image, fragments after fragments.

04-18-2004, 03:09 PM (

Few hours later.

04-18-2004, 08:33 PM
Nice work!
What's the story beind it?

04-18-2004, 08:45 PM
I have already described my concept before.
There is a decadence in the biomechanic univers and people looking most like robot than humans.
I have the idea of this girl, touched by the human looks of this small tree.
I hope managing to create an illustration with a little of poetry.

04-20-2004, 10:27 AM (

There is some more things to be made on the head of the tilted statue and I would have to balance the contrasts in the image after.
However this head brings, I think, more force to suggest this decadent universe.

04-20-2004, 10:34 AM
you could maybe bring out the face in the tree more ?

cause right now the statue and the lady might get all the
attention ..

04-20-2004, 10:36 AM
At this time, I don't have to use a single texture and I will going to try to didn't use any one during all the challenge.

04-20-2004, 10:41 AM
Squibbit< Don't worry I will make many changes. Thank you for the council nevertheless!

04-20-2004, 10:47 AM
:P ok , sir

04-20-2004, 03:18 PM

Good luck, RIDDICK. your work is very, very good...:buttrock:

See my machineflesh challenge 3D (

04-20-2004, 03:33 PM
I'm really proud to receive so enthousiastic answers from a man in Finland and an Other in Mexico!
Thank you Khar3D !

04-20-2004, 04:17 PM
I really like this peice and the direction you are heading with it....
So far in your coloring you are bringing that poetry you spoke of to life.

My main comment would be not to forget lighting elements that would change the shade of things - aka the sky. Although I am sure you wont. I take it you did your icon? Can't wait to see more!!

Also - check out pictures of lagoons...with the deep looking water. I'd like to see more water in your water texture as you come along ;}

04-20-2004, 05:12 PM
Shinwa< Thank You!
This is just the first step, a base.

04-24-2004, 11:41 AM (

The more I advance and the more I change things.
I moreover think of changing the size of the canvas soon.

04-24-2004, 11:45 AM
I think that I am going to change the head of place and to put her at the right behind the woman.
I am going to have to make a piece of its body...

04-26-2004, 09:29 PM (

A new implementation and some tests of lights.
Now I am going to finish each of the elements, then I complete the picture with small objects or plants.

05-06-2004, 12:21 AM
HEI, very very nice your composition!!!

I'm next time making studies to compose a cene to my person, the TEMPLAR project. Your job is very cool.

Keep the good job!

See my entry - the project Knight TEMPLAR (

05-19-2004, 07:43 PM (

I have decided to change the creepy swamp for a beach.

05-19-2004, 07:46 PM (

More buildings, more details in the sea.

05-19-2004, 08:23 PM (

Other leaves.
Different contrast and color in the sky, on the rocks.
I have completely change the position of the statue.

05-21-2004, 06:46 PM (

Here is the latest picture before the final step of the wip.
I have to add some constructions in the background.
My character has devices of analysis which take out of her fingers.

05-23-2004, 07:58 PM
Man!! awesome paint!

05-23-2004, 08:52 PM
Great colors!

I will keep my eyes in your job... !!!

05-23-2004, 10:23 PM
BloodTaster and londero <Thank you for your compliments and your fidelity.
I have not many things to be made on this drawing.
It will be the end, soon.

05-24-2004, 06:41 PM
thanks for the comment on my picture :D
The new structures you aded in front of the higher buildings fit very well i think.
will you leave the picture in the size of the latest post or the wider view of the one before.
Right now i think the closer view would also look good.
In the wider view you might think about making the horizon a bit curved i think this would look a bit better. Not sure though :)
i like the textures you added. did you draw every single leaf on the tree?

05-24-2004, 06:53 PM
"will you leave the picture in the size of the latest post or the wider view of the one before."
No, this is just a close up to see the latest modification.

"In the wider view you might think about making the horizon a bit curved i think this would look a bit better. Not sure though"
Maybe , I will try to test this solution.

"did you draw every single leaf on the tree?"
Damn! No, I have find some forms and I mixed them and worked again with layers to have the depiction which was convenient for me.

05-27-2004, 08:11 AM (

I found that there was not enough flesh in this picture.
The woman looks too much as a robot and I wished that we feel the parallel between a 100% human person and a customized person.

Then I made this child.
And I put her at a very precise place in the drawing.

05-27-2004, 08:19 AM
the children looks amazing, great job so far

05-27-2004, 08:31 AM
mate, thats some awesome paint work, truely great, well done, i look forward to more. This is for you:bowdown: :applause:

05-27-2004, 08:37 AM
that lighting on the recent addition of the girl is insane! the hair is unbelievable, the whole painting is crazy, cant wait for it to finish. the only thing id like to see changed is the tree, i think it would go better if it was old, overgrown, and leaves everywhere, even ones floating in the ocan etc...

but this is a work of art

05-27-2004, 10:01 AM
Russo< Thank You!:)

sketchfiend< Woaw this is too much!

eupee< I don't think to change the leaves or the tree.

05-27-2004, 10:17 AM (

Because I am not really going to put the twice same image for the color, and the final.
So,here is a version, centred closer of the characters.

05-27-2004, 10:48 AM (

I remind the basic concept.
There is a decadence in the biomechanic univers and people looking most like robot than humans.
I have the idea of this woman, touched by the human looks of this small tree.
The young girl can have different meaning.
For each to see, what she inspires them.
I hope that I succeeded to create an illustration with a little of poetry.

Here is a big version:
Higher Version (

And close-up on elements here:

05-27-2004, 10:54 AM

the sensibility of your paint is fantastic

the expression of the robot is surreal, your picture talks, its a dense work. The contrast - robot - chield is perfect, and the idea...

I loved the chield paint. If you will retouch any color or style in picture, preserves the chield with a reference point.

keep the excelent job.

Thank you londero for your fidelity during the evolution of my work.

I am satisfied that this drawing touches you, even if I think that it is finished and that I would add nothing else.

Riddick, thanks a lot for your words of appreciation they mean more especially that your works are on a really high level, the close-ups show how beautiful they are... a kind of poetric, keep it up ! :applause:

06-10-2004, 12:47 PM

Extraordinary atmosphere in wich I'm easily sucked in,
I wish that place exists for real....
marvelous!!! :bounce:

06-18-2004, 02:18 PM
A lot of work there, you must be shattered.........well done for completing this.

06-18-2004, 02:38 PM
EmpY< A jewel!!
Well this compliment goes up to my heart!

Paul Davidson< It was long.
But it was can be less, laborious than other drawings because, I knew that I could develop more or less my drawing if ever a thing raised me problem.

06-18-2004, 03:04 PM
 the final image is really something.

It's good to see all the details posted as you don't really see them on the complete image.

It's also interesting to see you've created this entirely in Photoshop. It's a great package and I've used it for years, but have to say that Painter seems better for choice of brushes (sorry I'm a recent convert).

Congratulations and good luck in the next stage / voting process:applause: :applause:

06-20-2004, 10:15 PM
Mr Freeman< I'm really more familiar with photoshop than painter but it is true that the brush effects are more interesting in painter.

Thank you for the comment.

07-08-2004, 02:55 PM
This turned out beautifully. I want you to know I like the decisions you made along the way, and the child was a good addition, it adds another element to your story. CHEERS to everyone who finally has time on their hands least a little before the next piece they start ;} Good luck in the voting! Have you looked at the guy's work with the kid and the fish yet?
Also - have you seen the Chronicals of Riddick? Cool stuff there.

07-10-2004, 02:26 PM
i like the idea of a disruped future but the buildings look the same and frankly kind of flat. but the idea is great and the image is well done.

--edit-- :: by flat i mean all on the same place lined up in a row. the building them selves are well rendered.

good work :) good luck.

07-17-2004, 04:18 PM
Shinwa< Thank you for the congratulations!

And good luck too!
I 'm not sure that I have seen the picture of what you are talking about.

Slav< Well I'm not really a boss with the buildings ;b

07-17-2004, 06:59 PM
hehe its fine mate. you can barly notice it anyway

the over all image is awsome.
