im tryin to get good results out of sp2 but for some reason im not getin the results im getin out of the brazil r/s or could i get better results out of the mental ray2.1 any tips or ideas thaks in advance

have a look at Tutorial #1 Setting up a scene for Global Illumination using SOFTIMAGE|3D

It's old, but it still works.

this is a gi test .is it get there or is there more that i shuold do

Try turning your ambient light down to zero.
Set your lights umbra to zero also.
Turn one of your lights up a little higher.

That should get you going.
