I wanted to make a model for this theme, but I wont be entering it in the compitition. Since I picked the theme & am also a judge, I don't think it would be fair to enter. But I wanted to make a WIP thread so I can get crits.
I wanted to make a bond character for my demo reel, and pierce brosnan has been done to death. So I chose the true bond... Sean Connery!

lookin cool and its got the right kind of head and face shape
but while it does have something of him its also wandering into Dr Smith land a bit.. needs to look a little more harsh and manly maybe
the eye brows will help a lot tho

the chin got out of control a bit. you probably need to bring his jowls forward, since they seem to be aligned to the wrong line in the side view shot.
looks good so far, you got his cheekbones down, which is cool.

I modeled 007 with those refs once. You have my sympathies, he's tough. Keep in mind that his eyebrows are NOT symmetrical. You might also want to cut his dimple lines a little higher. Looks great, though.

hey, awesome! the head's looking alright.
clothes could use a little slack, they look fit right now. but that is something for the tweaking stage. how do you plan to seal up his pants btw?
the model seems to have a bit of a hunch, which isn't the case in your reference photo. it seems a lot of people are focusing on just the head, but i think you need the actor's whole body to accurately convey a likeness.

Ok, He is about done and ready to unwrap. I finished his pants and added shoes, and also made adjustments based on the suggestions.
His tri count is currently 4012
Let me know if anything needs fixing before I start painting.

He looks a bit overweight to me. Especially in the front view. Wasnt sean connery more of a lean mean machine in the days? The face looks okay though I dont immedeatly recognize him. the model itself is really good though.
Could you post a wire?

I went out and rented "From Russia with Love" on DVD. Captuered a bunch of images for textures, and studied his figure too tweak the model.
I made him thinner, played with proportions, and made the cuffs of his pants and jacket tighter toward the ankle & wrist. Is it better now or before?

His proportions look better now IMO. The head texture is looking very good at the moment! :thumbsup:

you´ve got a very dense mesh there, you could weld away alot and the model wouldnt look different. Seems you do alot of highpoly ...
texture coming along well allthough his cheeks and the nosebone seem a bit blured
