wow, that's wonderful...very nice

03-19-2004, 08:59 AM
Very sensual and godly.

03-19-2004, 09:11 AM
Very nice! Wonderful.

My only crit; all the cloth and beeds on her lower dress looks much more dull and uneffected by the light. Everything else looks much different, so it can't just be the lighting. Maybe if you gave the lower part of her more contrast or something.

03-19-2004, 09:25 AM
it's an amazing painting job...however There is one thing is bugging my head tho...She's a sort of spiritual 'god' of the east (china..i guess from what you said...sorta buddha...)but she has a so stereotype western body...look at her breast!

anyway I must say this is a very cool work!

03-19-2004, 09:25 AM
nice sombre palette used well

good work

03-19-2004, 09:26 AM

very nice and professional!
keep on!

Chain Jane

this is so absolutely beautiful. Every new piece of yours exceeds the quality of the latter. I so wish you would let me FEATURE your work in a future issue of TERROR TALES - check out the ARTIST slot on here, Mitch Phillips, (I am offering this sort of 6-shot+photo+bio exposure to you if ever you wanna take it)

I am such a gushing fanboy!

03-19-2004, 12:40 PM
Wonderful Goddess-pic! Feels like a little dark kinda hindu-painting. The only thing bugging me is the earlobes. I know it's custom to portray wise persons/gods with long earlobes but alas... they kinda feels "off" here, but that's only personal critique.

03-19-2004, 03:11 PM
 Wow! This is beautiful! I love the tones and composition. It reminds me of some o f the work posted on the FHP website but your work has much more detail to it.

Just wonderful, keep up the great work!

Actions speak louder then words:

It Rocks!

03-19-2004, 03:29 PM
I like it ! Do you make prints or poster of your work?

03-19-2004, 03:32 PM

03-19-2004, 04:27 PM
 I love your textures and jewels for tha most part. Iffy on those ears but it's definetly creative. One thing, remove tha (Mitubishi*sp) triangle logo from tha head and just make a better jewel for that area. Other than that. you rock!

03-19-2004, 04:40 PM
Very nice!

03-19-2004, 05:24 PM
I love seeing someone doing justice to interesting religions. Great work!

03-19-2004, 05:35 PM
Wonderful mood, style, and especially color pallet! KUDOS! The subject matter is also lovely.

03-19-2004, 06:38 PM
nice nice. gogo chinese, i am proud of you

03-19-2004, 06:50 PM
This piece is really outstanding. Most already commented so I'll skip to my point:

Why is it that most of the asian/chinese/pacific artists seem to reflect the same style of painting digitally. The details are not massively correct, but they're imaginatively specific...Especially these artists that I only know by screen names;

Sono(GFX)--and the artist who painted the Wacom.dream.-type works.

I love this work, and though we can say all sorts of stuff, Zemotion, I think that it's not the hyper-hyper-realistic touch he was looking for, so the cloth are perfectly good for this specific composition. I think you refer to cloth rendering a painter like Jan van-Eike used to paint, but there are so many other ways to render a painting (or any cg work). sometimes it's even much more intersting than photo-hyper-borring-realisem (and sometime not...).

great work!!!

03-19-2004, 08:14 PM
Your painting detail level is awesome! :applause: :applause: :applause:
Excellent choice of colors!

Cheers, Daniel :arteest:

I love the image... though, I do agree with what someone mentioned before about her having a western body... Either way, she is beautiful! I'm going to be doing a interpretation of Kali for a competition... I like the fact that your goddess has 4 arms... I'll have to read up on her....

truely beautiful work... thank you for sharing her with us.

Awesome work!

Wow!

03-20-2004, 04:31 AM
The painting is lovely.

I'm wondering why a spiritual deity would be wearing something so sexually revealing? That's not Buddhism. The Chinese don't really have Buddhism BTW--it's more of a mixture of Taoism, superstition, and a bit of the original Buddhism from India.

And to those that remarked that she has a "western body." What the hell is that supposed to mean? That's one of the most ignorant remarks a person can make in today's information age. If you've never seen an Asian girl with full breasts then you probably haven't lived enough. I see them everyday when I go outside. Hell, type in "Japanese Idols" in google and you'll see tons on the internet.

03-20-2004, 04:36 AM

great work!

03-20-2004, 04:57 AM
By the way, Janet Jackson called. She said she'd like her nipple shield back!!

Just kidding there. Seriously though, beautiful painting. Love the colors and the detail. Nice style too.

Well, thats incorrect.
Even if she was strip-naked, it wouldn't be considered 'sexual' to a buddhist... the 'lust' that is caused from nudity is a learned reaction that causes suffering. Thus a buddhist must train themselvs to be beyond this. (maybe you are thinking of Christian puritanical theisim)

Also, it is traditonal that most buddhist monks wear just a robe and not much else.

Right. So when's the last time you came across a holy image/sculpture of any deity from Buddhism that had her entire breast bare (and a healthy D cup) , with only the nipple covered? :D

And when's the last time you came across a female monk that wore the same across the shoulder robe as the tibetan monks? Dude, their breast would be hanging out.

The iconic images are there to inspire revere--and having a bare breast would hardly be appropriate for any common person worshipping. Sure, it's a learned reaction--but unless you ARE a monk, mostly likely you will react like a normal human being. Why not put Vigin Mary in a G-string then? I mean, our sexual reaction to a G-string and bare butt cheeks is a learned condition, right? :p

Anyway, I'm not even a religious person--I just found the design curious, that's all. The painting is beautiful, and in the end that's all that matters.

....sorry but you missed my point.probably due to my bad english.
I'm italian...well you think I got dark hair with dark eyes and i'm not that tall!No i'm not...I'm blonde with blue eyes...but this is not meant to be the italian 'stereotype'....When u think about italy or any other countries you think of them by their positive/negative stereotypes wich makes that place particular...I'm not saying all chinese women have a little breast or stuff like that...what i was trying to tell to everybody was that she should look a little bit differentl because of what she rapresents..a sorta know chastity, equanimity, peace and so on...these were the things I supposed to find in a deity. But It's my opinion....the cool thing is that we can have different opinions about this fact.

Lovely !!

Awesome work full of details

03-20-2004, 05:14 PM
This is a beautiful painting, overall, colors, proportions, etc. I do find that this is another asian styled anime--in which there is a ton of detail to the clothes and background, very minimal detail to the face. It looks like any other anime or jap animation face. Put a more detail to the expression. Lets have some variety in womens faces and not the same asian style over and over...unless thats the intention but even asian styled women have expressions (detail) in their face.

03-20-2004, 05:40 PM
Very very cool idea
did you came with the idea for the female version of boudha ? or did you base it on an older concept ?
either way its a very cool painting !
good colors too !

03-20-2004, 05:58 PM
Wow!! I think that is a very beautiful illustration. I like everything about this one, the content, composition, the colors, the rendering. Very nicely done!

beautiful work on the skin tones, and the way the second set of arms grows from the torso is very very natural, very impressive.

I especially like the expression and body language, very "full of grace"

great work, absolutely no crits at all.

Words cannot say how much I love this image.

By the way, which bodhisattva/deity is it which is depicted? At a guess I would say Kuan Yin due to the female aspect, I don't want to make any incorrect assumptions here.
