This is actually my line art too. I tend to do all of my work in painter. I though it would be cool to illustrate an old concept of mine. He is sort of an old forgotten tool of torture. Cast aside, residing in his piles of trash and other discarded element. Out of necessity, he began making self modifications, adding pieces from his victims to his arsenal.

Nice lighting and color. Your forms look very believable as if you mocked something up in 3D first.

'Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Hey... sorry,
I didn't really make my process clear. This IS a start from scratch. I do all of my work in painter, I rairly ever do a line drawing first. This is actually a first study for the character design, I will be uploading a series of studies that I will derive the final composition from. The final probably won't look anything like this first one. This is just meant for now, as an introduction to the basic character design. I will post WIP of the actual painter file as I finish the final but until I really get to know my character better, I am doing fast desgin studies like my first post.

sorry about not being clear, my process is a little wierd.
thanks for all the comments so far, I will be posting a few new studies sometime today.

this is another idea I had for the head assembly for my character. I am not sure how I feel about this one.

03 March 2004, 08:50 PM (

Just playing around with scale and orientation. I am still deciding on how deep I want his "face" to be sunken into his torso mass.

just another quick concept sketch.

So cool to see all the inspirational talent out there! Canit wait to see all the final entries.

This is a new direction for me. I thought it might be cool to have a machine that adorned itself with human flesh for "cosmetic" reasons. This guy it a trader of flesh wrappings, in his wierd world.

This is a rough concept sketch for my flesh trader

06 June 2004, 01:45 AM (

this isn't really my line art, I don't ever actually use line art. I like to go straight ahead and think about the final while I am working. So this is really just a line suggestion...

Hey Goli,

Man from you that is a serious compliment!! Your stuff is amazing. Thanks alot!!

06 June 2004, 03:12 PM

I really got stuck in the background here. I didn't think that the one that was there was following what was in my head. Hope I didn't screw it up too much. Almost there though.. burning until tomorrow afternoon. wish me luck!

:) Just when you think you've seen as many entries as possible, another gem of an image appears....really sorry I've not visited your entry before as it has a great sense of atmosphere and lighting. Not 100% sure about blue sky as I feel it should be slightly darker to match the background , but then again it does make the characters stand don't listen to me

This is really impressive...good luck and see you in the next challenge :applause: :applause:

06 June 2004, 01:22 PM
Hey thanks for the support guys! I agreea with your comment about the sky. There was alot that I rushed through to get some kidn of final. Out of respect for all the killer work, I am going to finish it the way I had wanted to anyway. I will post it when I am done.

thanks again guys, see you next challenge

Another very well done DARK piece....Only a few people I have seen have chosen to work so dark, well done. I Love the landscape and the canyon sort of setting...It reminds me of a Goth Western.....NICE JOB!:)
