Hey, good to see you made it too, lets start the fun! Best luck mate, let it rock! :buttrock:

This is just a very early concept sketch and at this stage I have a million idea floating around in my head and so everything may change over the next couple of days.

My idea is that the human figure (I haven't deceided if it is male or female yet) has had robotic/metalic wings 'built' into its body in order to fly like a bird. However this procedure has shown the limitations of the human form and as the quest for flight has gone on more and more radical alterations to the human skeleton have become essential.

Nice Fly-Girl... hehe, makes me feel like i'm coming home, an ANGEL, hehe, i feel honored  :p
Ok, am curious, and looking forward to how this is comin along for sure!

03 March 2004, 08:43 PM (

Started modeling the head because it seemed as good aplace to start as any. Still a very long way to go though.

Im going to have to decide soon if the figure is going to be male or female.

C&C welcome as always.

good start

03 March 2004, 09:35 PM
U PLAN TO MAKE ME SERIOUS PRESSURE, DO U? Great start, the Model comes along very precise, I think too tender to be male, but u could distort ur nice model in a few unfotunate ways to give me back a good feeling ;)
A very good start. My eyes tell me something with the nose seems not to fit yet, but I know what WIP means. How you made it? Splines?
Rock on mate, this looks really good!

03 March 2004, 10:24 PM
Thanks Angel.
I know what you mean about the nose, it still needs a fair bit of work as do the eye sockets and the ears.
I have made it using nurbs and to be honest at the moment I have only created one side of the head so the other side is a symetery object just to help me get the proportions right then i'll turn it into a single mesh so that I can adjust each half independently.

I wanted to try and visually develop my concept a bit further before I got seriously stuck in to the modeling. Sorry about my poor drawing skills.

03 March 2004, 03:40 PM (

Stared work on the rest of the figures body and the 'mechanical' augmentation.

Still very rough at this stage though.

03 March 2004, 03:48 PM
very nice up to this point:applause:
I like the style especially of your first concept drawing
It is cool!

03 March 2004, 06:04 PM
Wow Simon, your human modeling skills are simply amazing, and as i know your other skills from AW challenge already, I think this will be just an amazing work to expect. Just pay the machineparts the same attention as you paid the anatomical details and your (elf/angel?) girl will be just aaaaawesome! And make sure, all advantages make sense. hehe.
I love what i see. I better get modeling now! Rock on mate! :buttrock: :wip:

03 March 2004, 07:02 PM (

Just trying to develop some of the details.

I like a lot the soul of your C.G.
It will be a very good piece !

04 April 2004, 03:09 PM (

Still much work to be done but this is the main figure model so far.

04 April 2004, 04:06 PM
good concept i like it :applause:

04 April 2004, 08:37 PM
sorry... but your model is like a poser model.
I am wrong?
just I see the rules about daz3d and poser models...

Yup the body is definately a poser model

04 April 2004, 09:57 AM
Simon, please send more W.I.P images of the body development.

OK guys, Fair cop. I guess that I hadn't read the rules properly and I used a poser model as a quick starting point for the figures body.

I have therefor decided that to avoid any further problems I am going to start again from scratch with a completly different concept and hope that I don't get disqualified for my screw-up so far.

04 April 2004, 11:24 AM
KEEP UP man!

Start the work! You will be right, try it.
I'm waiting for your new models.

and poser models are not enough good for you...
I know it.;)

04 April 2004, 11:58 AM (

OK, Im back with a completly new idea.

Remember when you were young and you won a goldfish at the funfair? Remember sitting for hours watching it swim around in the glass bowl that you had made it's home? Remember the feeling when you came home from school a couple of days later to find it lifeless and floating on the top of the water?
Well, imagine if that was never going to be an issue again.

Through the use of robotics and electro-mechanics every funfair goldfish will come with all the weak parts (heart, gills) replaced my machine equivelants all hooked up to its own life support system.

Imagine never having to see that look of sadness of your own childrens faces that you had on yours as you watched your pet being flushed!

04 April 2004, 01:08 PM (

Very early work in progress on the basic fish model.
Still got a very long way to go.

04 April 2004, 03:15 PM
The fairy. Well, in fact i think your skills are great and you still have much time, why not model her and kick Posers guy ass with showing up with a better model? Funny Fishconcept. I wonder what you goin to do with it :)
Rock on Simon!!! :buttrock: :wip:
