Y a pas à réfléchir plus
Je nous souhaite bonne chance.
First concept is the apocalypse reporter
In the futur , in a world of media and war these men need to be equiped with the best for video and sound , but when they travel in dangerous countries , they also need the best for survival and infiltration.
03-21-2004, 08:29 PM
very bizarre.. i like it..
03-21-2004, 08:41 PM
wow you have a very interesting concept going here. i like the way you have a double set of hands going into the arms. this creature creatiuon is excellent! i look forward to seeing your progress :D
thx all , i need to work more on the flesh side !
03-22-2004, 12:15 AM
I like how it is evolving. Your most recent sketch seems to be going back towards a more human-like stance. I really like sketch 03 - the exaggerated proportions are cool, as is the hunched-over posture.
Man it's hard to keep track of who is doing what.
03-22-2004, 08:26 AM
That is a good idea to give him more flesh.
03-22-2004, 03:26 PM
This is a great idea. I'm writing a novel and had a similar kind of reporter in the future except he was in the dangerous Urban Jungle of a society gone wild. Anyways, I'm quite interested to the fruition of your efforts. Great start. LOL you know reporters love to gibber jabber so I was thinking you might focus more on the mouth piece besides his survival capabilities. I love the video cameras being part of the eyes. Again great idea.
ye thanks all , yes i agree with you francis , in this new one i tried to work on the flesh side , with a huge carachter working for urban construction etc
That thing looks awesome!!!
03-23-2004, 10:31 AM
ooooh...lovely line work!!
And there's some really nice mark making (and texture in the last one). Lovely broad strokes. It's nice to see more interetsing marks than the usual airbrush or even the more expressive brush strokes you see a lot from Painter. Are these photoshop?
It's almost like print-making (Lino cuts or something?)
ANd there's a nice balance between the subjects and the space around them.
impressive research works :applause:
I like that
03-23-2004, 12:52 PM
i like the treatment of the right arm of your last post
there is a good opposition between edges and rounds very interesting !!
03-23-2004, 10:06 PM
i love the last concept ( very gigantic cam or mic, no? Or what else? :] )
go go go o/
I worked on the last concept, adding lot of flesh and some mini town living on this flesh tank , a war machine eating corpse on the battleground.
see the post below (update)
03-23-2004, 11:07 PM
Wooh. I really like the concept of the mini Town. I think you should go on in this way, it's pretty original. But the warmachine... It's more classic, I think, than the reporter or the carryer. :hmm: Maybe juste a kind of living town could be enough and more subtile.
BTW, good luck!! :)
03-24-2004, 02:22 AM
WOW! That is beautiful! :) Makes me wanna .... cry. Or something.
03-24-2004, 05:36 AM
Wow... original concept:beer:
Like that style!!!
03-24-2004, 05:52 AM
This is really wonderful; its just incredible! Great work, I will definately keep an eye on this one as it developes.
03-24-2004, 07:09 AM
cool one Viag , cool one :applause: can't wait to see what you will come up with !
J'aurai peut-être vu l'observatoire un peu plus loin, genre sur les épaules, moins accessible par les tirs ennemis et plus stable suivant la façon dont le tank avance :)
Keep it going, this one rocks!
03-24-2004, 07:36 AM
very cool creature design...
And lots of expression in the strokes, It will be interesting to see this when it has colour.
03-24-2004, 07:47 AM
hi man ^^
i really love your style !!!
and good research as well !
cant wait to see more from your work !
03-24-2004, 10:05 AM
I love the mini-town idea!!
It suddenly has a grand scale about it.
I hope you can carry through some of the maks and textures. Is this the composition? Or are you gonna try it from different angles?
Good work, and very very nice the way your concept has evolved! I think you've reached a very interesting idea. Pull it to the limits!!!!!!!
03-24-2004, 12:19 PM
Getting in a bit late here, but also just wanted to add a big  , as that really is indeed a very nice style, that and I rather like the concepts.
03-24-2004, 02:09 PM
Yeah, the micro-city is a nice, very nice idea! I think this concept is original enough to be pushed further than the classical war-machine thing.
T'as mis le doigt sur un bon truc là !!!
It's like a colony of very smart and evil fleas on a powerfull dog.
Your sketches are getting better and so each time, hope you'll go on!
Bravo mon pote !
03-24-2004, 03:03 PM
You could really made a novel about living in that mobile city. And imagine the colosal war that could happen when two of those city-bearers would fight.
03-24-2004, 08:21 PM
just great.. you really did capture the whole theme of this challenge.
:applause: :applause: :applause:
03-24-2004, 08:36 PM
03-24-2004, 08:50 PM
This reminds me of the trailer of Onimusha 3, where the hero attack a huge beast who hold a city ruled by a demon.
Good idea and great concept !
hey thx a lot all , yes i think the city concept is good , i will work on the integration of the town with mecanic and flesh now.
Here is just a little closeup of the head :)
03-24-2004, 10:53 PM
I'm also a fan of the concept. I especially love his huge arm with all those pistons. Will this be your final layout or are you gonna change his pose? ...just curious because I really like his tired resting look.
oh no its just concept , the lineart will be in a environnment with a more 3dish position but with the same feeling :)
03-24-2004, 11:18 PM
but with the same feeling
The feeling is incredibly good!
My godness !!! :bounce: :buttrock:
The texture is incredible !
i hope we will see all oyour creatures
in you CG !!! i love them all !!!
I wouldn'tlike to met one of them in a corridor !!
i'll wait tomorrow morning for going to the toilet :).
03-25-2004, 05:33 AM
Getting better'n better:thumbsup:
03-25-2004, 08:45 PM
Scrolling through the challenges, I feel its a shame the 3D contestants get so many nice hardware prizes compared to the 2D category, as most the 2D entries, particularly yours, are so much more inventive and well-thought out.
Which is one of the reasons so many more people have entered the 3D challenge.
You 2D is just plain scary, man.
I'm anxious for more of this excellent show!
03-25-2004, 09:08 PM
Wouldn't want to meet this guy at night in a dark alley.
03-30-2004, 05:39 AM
You are keeping the suspens viag

I put up your topic to put some pressure :)
03-30-2004, 10:42 AM

What could increase the emotion of the picture could put a close up of the left leg

04-10-2004, 03:45 PM
Wow impressive, your concept is fantastic:buttrock: I am waiting for new update keep it up:thumbsup:
Bonne chance, c'est très bien partis.
04-10-2004, 04:24 PM
...looks absolutely cool...very leviathan`ish, gargantaur`ish, and unearthly:)
04-12-2004, 08:41 AM
This is getting impressive. The details on the skin and the machine parts come along nicely. :buttrock:
But I regret just one thing: I don't feel this beast is as gigantic as on your previous pics (before you changed the point of view). I think it may come from the global perspective in the image. The edges in the background seem way too high to me, and the "sun" and the clouds way too big compared to the town.
Maybe you could leave some parts of the things out of frame too.
It should BE so HUGE, you know what I'm mean?
Okay, that's a lot of speaking (you know me buddy), hope it can help you in any way!
04-12-2004, 10:24 AM
I have to sign on that thread as well :) The concept is great, powerfull... I think that u should use a lot of details on that monster, to show the size of it. What colors will u use in this one???
thx and "merci" all
Ye frood the gigantic feeling will come caus this is just a temporary environnment , i will work on this with the color ;)
ninjaAssn , i will use some colored grays and lot of complementary colors and maybe an extra fullbright color to show up some details
I need to work on the transparency side of the flesh too
Here is the start of the wip color , choosing a color scheme
To be continued ...
04-12-2004, 11:50 AM

04-12-2004, 06:33 PM

04-23-2004, 10:26 PM
Nice drawings. I started at the last post of it and couldn't tell what it was so started moving back until I figured out that that was a city on top of him. Pretty cool concept. I would add something a little more recognizable as a certain size to help sell the scale of the thing.
04-26-2004, 10:40 AM
thanks for your comments on my page.
I have to notice your name...your works here are wonderful. these drawings are excellent, and you have a very good balance between details and main proportions. This is a quite heavy thing and as I see you can hold this valuable tool in your hands...

05-02-2004, 12:22 AM
:surprised ..Really great job,man!!!There's only 2 things(little things:D )that i like a little bit less(sorry,it's been a long time since i've talking(writing)english:blush: )
It's that orange spots(spotlikes)in the sky,or maybe the missing of blur in the sky(floodness or flowness:hmm: ,don't know sorry). And the second thing is that i feel like there are missing some highlight's,or is it the shadow that's a little bit to clear for my feelings,i don't know.
Anyway these are really very little things, because your work rock's really hard man!!!!!!!
congratulions,man very impressive!!!
05-02-2004, 10:35 AM
