Here is my initial concept (excuse the crap drawing):
Year 2215, planet terraforming has become a reality. Automated terraforming plants were unreliable and due to the harsh conditions and high cost to make the plants livable, standard human custodians could not be used. Altered humans however could be. Initially vollunteers were called for but due to the lack of applicants prisons were turned to. Now a life sentence is considerably shorter than it used to be....
The idea is that the prisoner is modified as cheaply as possible. One eye and one ear are removed to save money, implants are crude and barely functional and the prisoners are kept on a steady dose or various drugs to ensure they continue to work. An arm will be replaced with some sort of tool to make them more efficiant and they may have leg implants/prosthetics also.
Thats pretty much the idea, will refine it as I go.

Nice idea :) Im going for the prisoners theme also..check out my concept drawings (i got 2)...the link is in my sig. Maybe you'll get some ideas.
Your idea is quite funny really...keep working on the concept...incorporate some uniqueness to him.

Here is a second attempt at a concept.
The first was a bit bland and borg like.
Not sure if this is a punishment or some sort of control system....will see how it pans out.

Ive been looking around at other entries and am starting to worry that mine is too similar to some (I didnt look through the other entries before sketching to try and avoid this)
Ill have to make some changes.....
Im thinking of the frame being almost like a gyroscope and surrounding him with screens (maybe holographic) I picture the whole thing being suspended in the middle of a large dark space with a small area of light around the frame.
I think Ill just start modeling and see how I go.

Ive had a bit of a rethink of the direction for my entry...
I hope this is a bit more original.
