Thought I'd give a rundown of my basic idea[no images yet]. Im going to do a sloth that can run and perform actions at high speeds due to mechanical modifications.
03 March 2004, 10:31 AM
First concept. Thought I might look at the muscle structure for a cheetah and base the machinery on that, but this should give a fair idea of what I'm doing. comments and critique are welcome.
03 March 2004, 02:01 PM
Just another idea that ive been working on. Crits and comments would be appreciated.
03 March 2004, 03:31 AM
First shot at modelling the concept, ill probably redo the drillbit and ive still got the shovel hands to do. Comments and critique welcome
03 March 2004, 04:42 AM
Digger has got potential. Is it a mole or creature? Maybe make the screw massive like the legs or twice as big as the legs so it can dig a whole large enough to fit through.... nice model dude.
03 March 2004, 05:21 AM
Its supposed to be a mole, i probably will make the drill a bit bulkier.
thanks for the reply
03 March 2004, 02:00 PM
Added a bit more detail and fixed up some stuff such as the small head. Leaning towards making it more of a jachhammer rather than a drill. Please comment as id really like to improve him.
03 March 2004, 03:48 PM
:) really cool character you using Maya?
03 March 2004, 05:32 PM
Woah, whatever your using to render those are funky mats! Looks like hes made outta playdough or marzipan at the moment lol.
03 March 2004, 11:40 PM
im using lightwave, havn't used any special materials just the default render.
thanks for the comments
03 March 2004, 11:06 AM
Interesting head style ~
keep going !
03 March 2004, 11:55 AM
just a bit more work and views of the model. trying to do the detail with the modelling as my texturing isn't great. any comments and critique are welcome.
03 March 2004, 01:24 PM
thanks for your visit. your concept is fine. the head and shoulders are very intresting for me. good vork and of course your second version of the head is much better. if you thinkin' in "mole project" you should check the mole's hand coz it's one of the most interesting part of them.
03 March 2004, 06:02 PM
I like your model a lot, very strange and unique. Good luck.
03 March 2004, 06:10 AM
interesting concept, look forward to seeing the final progression
03 March 2004, 01:59 PM
Added a bit of displacement to the body and I wanted some feedback on how the shovel hands are looking so far.
04 April 2004, 09:48 AM
I love your style, Kieran!
The overall impression of this character is 100% cool
On the detail level, I would like to see some better definition of the fleshy part - it looks a bit rushed at the moment.
Otherwise:: Top notch stuff!
04 April 2004, 11:01 AM
Started work on the drill after a bit of a break. Will do some more on the flesh one ive finished all of the bsic modelling. Still lookin for some feedback and critique, thanks for the suggestions so far.
04 April 2004, 11:38 AM
:buttrock: Really love da modelling! I'm waiting for da FUN part, texturing! :bounce:
04 April 2004, 07:20 AM
A tiny update on the detail, id really like some feedback on how the drill's doing.
04 April 2004, 04:10 PM
started work on the texturing. left out most of the suit. looking for some critiques on how it is so far, particularly the flesh
04 April 2004, 05:29 AM
some more progression on the texturing. comment would be appreciated
04 April 2004, 02:45 PM
will you apply some bump maps on textures, or any differencies on tones?
by the way it goes well:bounce:
KEEP IT UP !
04 April 2004, 08:11 AM
im planning on it, just laying out the base colours etc i will add details once ive finished this part. thanks for the reply
06 June 2004, 01:24 PM
this is my lighting and compositing test, havent done the texturing yet (putting it off as long as possible) but ill hopefully do that soon.
06 June 2004, 12:36 PM
some texturing work, im planning on keeping it to this sort of light texture and bland colour to give a mineshaft feel, comments would be great.
thanks a lot
06 June 2004, 03:58 PM
It's looking good, but why not add some lights to the model? Perhaps some search beams or something like the light on the helmet that miners wear...
06 June 2004, 07:56 AM
thanks for the reply, thats a good idea, ill look into it.
06 June 2004, 07:58 AM
this is my final render, havnt really had time to work on it so the textures are not great.
06 June 2004, 08:07 AM
had to do a "bit" of tweaking photoshop
06 June 2004, 08:49 AM
Just a bit of a tweak.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for the help
06 June 2004, 08:14 AM
