AWESOME MODEL DOOD!! Really close to concept as well. Post some wires! :bounce:

03 March 2004, 09:38 PM
Good job! Reminds me of Blanco from the old street fighter. 4 days is pretty good!

I think you should adjust the left arm band though; it makes it look like his arm below it doesn't match up with his arm above it because it doesn't follow the curves. Maybe from a different angle it wouldn't be so obvious.

03 March 2004, 10:45 PM
wow... looks great mang.. Im glad to see you finally posted something on CGTalk. you should post some of your other works too... like some of those cars.. and that harrier, and the Mer-mech if you still have it. But ya... looks awsome... you should post some wire frames and maybe some prieviews of the textures. looking foward to more as usual. :P

-Well Peace out-

First of all, amazing piece of work! This model has so much character, love the concept as well. 4 days??? Oh my god...CRAZY!!! Here are some minor areas I think u should review:

- The texture on the nails, age it a bit, give it some dirt map
- The glow in the eyes is very cool, but maybe reduce the glow size a tad
- The hair looks a bit too plain, give it a nice shader maybe, forget about texturing each hair hahaha

Once again, I LOVE this model, hope my 2 cents helped a bit!
Keep it up

ps: I wannna see an animation with this guy!

03 March 2004, 10:49 PM
Hey Good Man !!!!!! I think it's awesome !!! Are you going to model all the characters for Seda X2 ????

Just a small comment about it... I think that the wicked expression doesn't show too good on the model, it looks more evil than crazy evil.

Btw... What's the poly count on that ?

03 March 2004, 11:32 PM
4 Days for everything That is Dam nice.

The model is sp close to the concept its scary really nice work!

A few things i noticed , dirty up his teetb, make his hair more shiny, maybe less glow in his eyes and itll be perfect !

Cant wait to see more work from you man keep it up!

03 March 2004, 11:47 PM
:applause: :applause:
good job on the model man!

his left arm looks wierd to me thought

but good job

03 March 2004, 12:46 AM
It's for a game so shaders are out of the question on the hair (maybe ya missed that part). Other than what's been said, good job, and great work. 4 days is pretty close to what a character goes through in a pipeline from creation to finish. Good job.

03 March 2004, 12:48 AM

Yeah. Nice job on the model and textures boss.
Can't wait to see it in the game (his rattling head and all heh)

Keep it up :)

Wires and such

03 March 2004, 01:06 AM
Good job! Reminds me of Blanco from the old street fighter. 4 days is pretty good!

Before reading the messages, that was what I was thinking too. Blanca, from Capcom's Street Fighter games. The rest of the commentors sums what I wanted to comment. I could not spot any imperfections in your images.

03 March 2004, 01:37 AM
[It's for a game so shaders are out of the question on the hair (maybe ya missed that part). ]

Does that only apply to ingame models ? Cause i think this would be more for cinematics. Jus wonderin

Holy cow! Thats a sweet model! Yea very street fighter-ish.

Cool mang! :buttrock: :buttrock:

You're my hero!

03 March 2004, 04:38 AM
Ya after seeing the wire, definitely doesn't look in game heh.

03 March 2004, 05:18 AM
Hi. I'm from the LM Team. Just wanted to mention that all the assets for the game are pre-rendered. It is a Valkyrie Profile meets Castelvania styled, fantasy side-scroller with RPG gameplay elements.

They will look like this in game for ex:

[working character animation]

However, they are also being used in 3D cinematic cut scenes, thus the high poly count.

4 days is impressive

what a great works - in 4 days. i dont know if i could make something like this in such a short time:wise:

03 March 2004, 09:42 AM
Incredible work man !!!!!!

I love the caracter design.

Some details: You should dirty up some textures, reduce the glow size of eyes, put a little smile in the expression...

03 March 2004, 09:52 AM
hi there

Thank you for the advices, comments and critiques. I really appreciated...

Brief info of GEO

Geo is twisted being, his mind housing both the echoing thoughts of a fallen warrior and the malevolent seed of the demon Konogami. Geo lives to kill, and has slain hundreds of his own hand. His sinister smile is feared throughout SEDA.

The model will be use in game and for cinematic...:)

Professionally done, great use of polys and great topology. Kept it very close to concept as well. Nice work, how do you plan on handling the cloth, hair and necklaces?

03 March 2004, 11:03 AM
awesome....and that all in 4 days...amazing

03 March 2004, 11:09 AM
4 days??? ooh my god.
Command me mastaaaaaaaar .

03 March 2004, 11:14 AM
you totaly wasted your great modelling work with those textures and this poor lighting, its a pity to see this model going down :hmm:

03 March 2004, 11:18 AM
This is fantastic work, I love it. There is some really original character design flare shining through with this guy, I especially love the metal tubular like armour on his shins and all the beads.

Very nice!

03 March 2004, 11:24 AM
Amazing :buttrock: :applause:

:surprised luhna

03 March 2004, 11:25 AM
Great Work!! :applause:

03 March 2004, 11:38 AM
4 days eh, hats of to you!

03 March 2004, 11:48 AM
good stuff.

03 March 2004, 11:48 AM
Very impressive indeed ~ also because of the timespan that you have taken to model/rig/text./light it all.

Any chance that you'll be modeling "the mekka" as well ? :buttrock:

03 March 2004, 12:17 PM
I tend to agree with neox : the model is reallywell modelled, but it's a shame that the textures (more precisely the shaders) look too much like plastic. The rendering and the lightning are also a bit off.
Just a little more work and it's going to be very impressive ! :wip:

03 March 2004, 12:55 PM
Apart from the lightning, this is really high qualitative stuff. How long does it takes the team to develop the game until this state?

03 March 2004, 01:53 PM
 ur rock man
4 days
what if u made it 1 month

03 March 2004, 02:09 PM
nice hair :D

03 March 2004, 03:08 PM
dude, Im scared, kinda reminds me of the thing from the wing of the plane! (queue Twilight Zone music)

03 March 2004, 04:04 PM
Hi there,

Thank you so much for the comments and critiques...

Yes, I know my texturing and lighting is not as good as any other lighting and texturing on cgtalk and Geo is not as perfect as any other character models posted on cgtalk. But I am really happy with my Geo model that I finished in 4 days. Geo was supposed to be finished last week, but we were so busy that no one had time to work on him. So I decided to finish him off ASAP...

Started modeling Geo: 12-14 hrs. a day,
Before I completed Geo: 24 hrs straight, no sleep

When I model something that I really enjoy, I don't really think about taking breaks or eating food. But when my eyes are start burning and my stomach starts growling, then I know is time to eat and break...

Iím not an animator, I am a 3D modeler BTW...

P.S. Geo is not 100% completed, (completed enough to do a pose, such as the one in the concept drawing that is.)

03 March 2004, 05:14 PM
you ROXOR!!

03 March 2004, 06:16 PM
Just wanted to say that Konogami's dedication to his work is breathtaking, and just being around him while he works gives me the impression that anything's possible. I still have a long way to go but I'll get there. Once again amazing work, and I'm SO happy you're work made front page!!!!

03 March 2004, 06:30 PM

Very nice work! Everyone is super impressed dude. You kept really close to the character design,

Keep it up!

Mike R

03 March 2004, 06:45 PM
Only 4 days to do that? You did a great job  :applause:

03 March 2004, 07:04 PM
awsome stuff man
just 4 days sounds like joke , but i believe you ;)

03 March 2004, 07:28 PM
That is really amazing.
It is really hard to believe you can finish it in 4 days.
Definitely It is supurb stuff.

Take care of yourself~~
I believe a healthy body is more important than a great 3D model.
It is not worthy to use your time like that.

03 March 2004, 08:16 PM
Very cool Konogami! And in only 4 days, very impressive. I was wondering how you did your cloth shader? It's very fuzzy!

03 March 2004, 08:19 PM
nice modelling but i am curious as to how u are going/have rigged this character all thoses beads cloth etc maya rocks when it comes to rigging- u can paint the vertex weighting

03 March 2004, 08:46 PM
Awsome Job Dude!!!:buttrock: You ROCK!!!:buttrock: I can't believe you did it from start to finish in 4 days.

03 March 2004, 10:34 PM
Hey tuan. I almost forgot! I like your topology man!

You gotta help me out sometime on some modelling for organic stuff. I suck when it comes to modelling organic stuff.

But i'll help do particle stuff or compositing for Geo when you want.

PS: You're still my hero! :p

see you at school!!

03 March 2004, 10:51 PM
Incredible work!! You've just inspired me to get back on the modeling horse. It probably won't compare to your work, but it's a good feeling when seeing someone else's work inspires you to put your best efforts forward as well.

I'm also curious about the design decisions for the hair/cloth/accessories. Are they rigged as well, and how will they be animated? I'm struggling with this decision for my own models, so I'm interested to see how you guys are planning to implement this for your game. I'll keep an eye out for this one.

Good work, and well deserved front page! :)

03 March 2004, 12:26 AM
Wohoohooo front page kid, ppl better recognise haha Good work boss !

03 March 2004, 12:55 AM
All that in only four days? Incredible! Nice work.

03 March 2004, 01:07 AM
looks good. Just one thing, make the back bigger-esp the lats. It is disproportional right now.

03 March 2004, 01:12 AM
4 days!??!?!?! impressive.

03 March 2004, 02:59 AM
awsome model bro and that to in just 4 days coool!....:buttrock:

03 March 2004, 03:49 AM
Sweet man , nice model and details. Looks so close to the drawing that its scary !!!

03 March 2004, 07:12 AM
Wow! Absolut amazing model! Looks great. Do you guys have a website were your project is shown??

03 March 2004, 09:25 AM
Hi there

Once again, thank you so much for the comments and critiques and thank you Lildragon for that [pluging]. I really appreciate it and I am glad that my hard work has inspired someone. BTW, You can learn everything about the project if you go to: Liquid Moon Studios/X2 (

Some of you guys were wondering how I am going to rig the cloth. Well, this is a quick tutorial that I made for the cloth and this basic rig is use inside the game not for the cinematic. For the cinematic, I will be using Dynamic, Soft body and with that method, I'll rig the cloth to make a more realistic cloth movement. I know I'm not that professional with the rig compared to other rigs out there, but it's good enough to work for the game. This is a basic rig for Alias|Maya user:

P.S. Jasonjo5, thank you for the tip, yes I know it's not good for the health but I been working like this for a past few months.

03 March 2004, 09:37 AM
wow cool stuff homie! your're going on the right track!

Looking great. Looking forward on working with you and the rest of the team on the cinematic.

03 March 2004, 09:56 AM
i know everybody had said enough, but... I still have to say how impressed i am upon the speed and quality of your work. the final (at least for now) product stays really close to the original cocept in every aspect... amazing!! a true pro in production. :)

03 March 2004, 11:17 AM
Good work. :-)

03 March 2004, 12:07 AM
4 days......Wow. 4 months for me and still not that good.

03 March 2004, 09:44 AM
