View Full Version : Character : Wolverine (Evolution)

I am about 8 hours into wolvie...comming round the bend on the textures (1024 * 1024 sheet). I should have him rigged by about 2 am ....Im in the zone and cant stop... :)

Pretty good. That show's retreatment of Rogue is the best since she was originally created. I think she's perfect now, and I'm glad she's not a redneck anymore. :) Since you should know more about the show, Rogue cannot fly yet, right? Or have they done the Ms. Marvel story?

Edit: Personally, I'd do the claws with sprites... That way you can easily do some shader changes in a game for example, to make the claws come in and come out.

Also, if you're planning this for a game, an interesting thing to do would be put some large square polys around him, with sprites that are invisible until he rips his claws out, and it says, "SNNNIKT!" on the poly, just like a comic.

Matt - She doesn't have all her powers yet, but Im not completely up to date so I might be wrong.

Rigging low poly is a alot easier than a high res model. Got him bound and posed in like an hour and a half. Making good time. I'm gonna move onto juggernaut next.

Wow that looks really cool! I have a question though, is a 1024x1024 really needed? I wouldn't think so because there isn't much detail to be textured, but prove me wrong :)

That's really nice, how about other suits, or his normal clothes. And after your finished with him, you can do Xavier, and use him in a racing game.

oh dammit, just realized I'll wanna make Kurt now. Nightcrawler's cool.

No reason for the 1024 tex sheet. Im just doing these for fun. I didnt know I was gona use a toon shader...but it just looked cooler like this. I can go down to 512 at anytime. Im gettin sleepy, but still in the zone....just finished juggernaut. Gonna try to rig him before I go to bed.

Awsome, i love the marvel universe :)

Nice work. I like the comic shading. But I think that the textures need some more details. And maybe the face of wolvi needs some expression.

03 March 2004, 05:24 PM
Could you post different angle shots so that we can see what they look like other than a front shot?

03 March 2004, 08:39 PM
you captured wolverine alright but not quite sure about jug i know they are both stylized models but i think jug could do with a slightly bigger waist lol but thats just me awesome work in anycase

Thanks for the great comments guys. I will try to make quick idle animations for all of them.

I have to go back to Juggernaut...there are a couple areas i want to touch u[p...(like the arm length issue)

Here is a quick shot of Cyclops. I got a couple more hours left on him.

Wow these are great man.

What are these for?

A marvel mod for a game would rock :) cell shading whouldnt be hard to accomplish with some of the engines either, there was one for ut2k3 that never took off afaik.

Wow this is cool. I love the Old Style suit of Wolvie.

Nice work

EDIT - Just abit of thought. Isnt Juggernauts Body and Legs much more Tanked?
This would look very good if you made the legs n such more muscly.

Your Cyclops and Wolverine are awsome. I love them. But the Juggernaught doesn't give the sense of raw strength that he usually gives off.
Here's some google results of him that came up, that hopefully helps to make him look more badass. *shrug*

03 March 2004, 05:18 AM
Yeah i wasnt totally feeling the Jugg brute strength.

Look at those pics Cyborg posted. They are great, and will give you and idea to what Juggy Should look like.

Make him a Friggen Beast :)

Here's two pics of the Evolution one. If you look, it seems like those ones' arms have more power than yours too, maybe the length and thickness

03 March 2004, 05:39 AM
I have to agree on jugg, but all chars seem to differ from most images ive seen of them so having jugg be a bit off seemed ok.

I would make him huge and burly, but he doesnt really have to be that way.

03 March 2004, 01:49 PM
I updated juggernaut a whole bunch. I also added a couple hundred poly's...just for correct deformations and stuff. He is barely tipping 3,000.

03 March 2004, 06:17 PM
Good stuff !
i like your toon shading !

As a HUGE x-men lover: When will we see Jean Gray/Marvel Girl/Phoenix... That's the one character I'm dying to see modelled!

Keep up the magix
