View Full Version : help this should be simple

Hi, im using maya, I've rigged some characters a couple of times, and this is the first time this problem happened. I set up the legs bone, then I aply a Single Chain Ik from the hip to the ankle and suddenly the chain gets orientated to some other direction for no reason. I've checked the bones local rotation axes and can't find anything wrong. Please any insight would be appreciated.

well, i know i never use SC solvers on leg setups ever. I always use RP solvers. I've never had this problem before with RP solvers. Is there a specific reason you are using the SC route?

thank you for replying first of all. I have this problem even when i use RP setup.

actually folks, this only happens when I use SC, RP works fine. I still would like to find out why the SC is so screwey, I've used it a couple of times before and it worked fine, just yesterday it started flipping out. Help Please.

This problem has been posted about 1000 times. Itīs a bug in v5.0, fixed in the 5.01 update.
