View Full Version : Character: James Bond 007 poster

03-01-2004, 01:14 AM
I made this poster for the recently shipped EA games title 'James Bond 007: Everything Or Nothing'. Now it's out I guess it's OK to show. I guess I'll find out soon enough If not ;-)

Bond and Diavolo are game resolution character assets at approx 5,000 tris each, the Moscow background geometry is supplied by EA Canada who did the great vehicular aspects of the game and the high res gun is supplied by 1K who did the really cool intro.
The poster was rendered and lit in Maya with some Pshop post work in 'shaving' off polygonal edges etc. All character work in the game was done using Maya. Some additional character work here was done by SouL who kicks around these boards:

Im pretty proud of the game. There were just three of us on character creation ( excluding animation and character TD ) and we had a ton of Hollywood actors and fictional characters to recreate in not a huge amount of time. Iain McCaig helped us out with some character concept work. Im not gonna get into the 'does it topple Goldeneye 64's crown?' debate :) But lets just say it's getting critical acclaim and is a really fun play.

The poster is a finished piece but comments/crits welcome.

Dude. Okay that makes me want to go play the game =) still a couple edges on the ears that should be visible on a high-res poster.

Ah dude, really nice!

Do you have a wire to show?

looks amazing! play the demo for xbox, fun stuff.... the motorcycle part was good stuff....Though I haven't found a good bond game since goldeneye... :)

Wow, very impressive, is the guy on the right supposed to be Willam Defoe? It looks so much like him.

Anyway, Bravo on an excellent job.

Yep, Dafoe leant ( I should say sold! ) his likeness and voice acting to the game. He was particularly fussy about not having heavy bags under his eyes or being too wrinkly! We took about 15 years off Brosnan too. Aw, bless 'em :)

That looks really cool, what about the hair on the poster? Was the hair touched up in photoshop at all?

Wow that's a cool peace man,

I have just one comment, the way 007 hold his gun seems a bit loose to me.

Anyway excelent job!!

Bond has a cool expression. Subtle, but it works.

I have to ask - what was with the nickel-plated tanks, in EoN?

Wwow it's really cool^_^!!
Just like the 007 I know.
Very impressing!!

Here is a little advice...maybe you can use the depth of view to make the background a little blur and the light is not that right.

But I love the model!!
cool!!

03-01-2004, 03:33 PM
Beautiful.

Would love to see a wire also. Great work!

03-01-2004, 05:47 PM
Awesome :). Can't wait to see the game! I know the last Bond game was a bit of a disappointmet...hopefully this one will be better.

Dunno why folks are wanting the wires since well, they're only game rez models and not particularly interesting.
But anyway here ya go:

Thanks for the comments. I'll definitely fix the way the hand is holding the gun so loosely.
Lekku: its platinum, but I dunno, part of the usual absurdly far fetched Bond ideas I guess :)
Teriander yeah it was.

My ONLY crit, because this thing ROCKS is that 007 isnt gripping the gun handle--looks unnatural.

Thats it!

Other than that, buenisimo!

EDIT: maybe I should have read the thread first...

Updated pics.

Completely redid the hand. I just didnt see how dumb it looked until it was pointed out so thanks.
Played with faking some DOF in PShop and did a little tidying and enhancing here and there.

Thanks again for the crits. I'll be calling this done now I reckon,

The first image looked really at first glance something like digital
painting, but whithout taking any quality or merity to the good work you´ve really got here.

03-02-2004, 11:08 AM
Wow..great stuff...I love Willem Dafoe...
