OMG

This is perfect!!!
I first thought it was 3D, and you posted it wrong, till I read your text.

Such an insane amount of detail!!! :buttrock:
You rock!

I'm ashamed to give critique on such a peace of art :banghead: , but here it goes: It wasn't completely clear to me that the bot was trashing the building, perhaps some flying fragments would do it justice.

Besides that, beautifuuull!!!
You, my kind sir, are a true artist :arteest:

charlie brown
02-26-2004, 03:37 AM
i think your work is fantastic, you render so well.
Did you use a ref for this, how do you achieve such amazing gradiations, tell me!!!
please ;)

02-26-2004, 03:42 AM
HOLY HECK! That is great :bounce:

02-26-2004, 03:53 AM
That is incredible, olijosman. I absolutely love the leather glove... you can even see all the detail in the zipper! Wow. The red scarf adds a nice punch of color, and really balances out the piece. Awesome job!

02-26-2004, 04:24 AM
HOLY CRAP!!! PLEASE tell me you used references. Tell me you used references or else...my hope is lost!

02-26-2004, 04:31 AM
that is just utterly perfect. i am amazed at the way her skin looks. wow. wow. .........................wow! O_O

02-26-2004, 05:13 AM
so out of curiousity how big is the original image and how long did it take you to go from sketch to that?

*edit* I forgot to add that's some of the best photoshoping I have ever seen.

02-26-2004, 06:41 AM
Thank you very much for your commentaries

Rasper : You are right,in the first sketches I painted pieces flying, but I decided to change it

charlie brown and Kwe :I have used real reference of a girl like model.

Phantomstranger : the real sice: 2143+1000 px .how long from the first sketch? it is difficult to value...less of a month,in short whiles and complete days!!

In days I will put a work in progress and the first designs and concepts.

02-26-2004, 06:50 AM
olijosman.. thats a masterpiece.. very talented.. nice website you have too... the gallery is superb.. :)

02-26-2004, 07:12 AM
:surprised AMAZING!! that's great! no comment!:D
congratulation!

02-26-2004, 07:21 AM
What do you mean WAKE UP?

I must be dreaming, since I just can't belive this is a real digital work! As long as I look at this work, I won't belive I've waken up, so I don't see any use trying...

Holy mother of GOD!!!!

The girl looks absoultly beyond belife.

I can't look at the rest of the painting, since I'm still too amazed by the lighting and skin you've created for the girl.

It's truely spectacular!

02-26-2004, 07:26 AM

02-26-2004, 07:29 AM
Amazing! Frontpage material.

02-26-2004, 08:14 AM

02-26-2004, 09:04 AM

Absolutly X-elent!!!!:applause:
So "life" in Tina !!!! Beautiful...

02-26-2004, 10:58 AM
You freak me out! No one can paint like that! :surprised

02-26-2004, 11:18 AM

fantastic work man. the girl looks damn nice. amazing details. i like the style of the robot, too. keep it up.

02-26-2004, 11:36 AM
first i wasn t 100% sure if it s a guy or a girl :)

i have another critique. i think it would be cooler if there was some dust where the robot broke thru the roof and maybe some small parts falling down. i guess that would make this pic more dynamic.

great painting, the idea is damn cool.

02-26-2004, 11:49 AM
Grreat artwork as usual,

love specially the robot and the sky, and admire your attention to detail...

02-26-2004, 12:08 PM
yes yes, OLI This one its incredible.

...a ver cuando posteo algo mio por aqui...

02-26-2004, 01:48 PM
We're not worthy!

Wow, amazing detail and coloring.
You can almost smell the digital paint :)

But in the thumbnails (http://www.nibbledpencil.com/image.php?image=DESING3.jpg) I like that her scarf is a little translucent and I like the debris flying around.

And the robot is a bit at an angle in your thumbnails which I prefer.

Straight to the CG-Talk gallery!

02-26-2004, 03:37 PM
holy crap. It's been a while I've seen photorealistic art made with just wacom/photoshop.

02-26-2004, 03:39 PM
Ooh nice, one of the best work I've seen in ages. Words cannot describe the greatness of this pic.

You probably have been watching a bit of Iron Giant lately eh?

02-26-2004, 03:51 PM
Hy olijosman,

I realy love your work, and you're getting better and better. This one is astonishing.

Some critics, sorry for that:

The hair and piece of cloth around her neck is "flying" to the left.. I think because of the wind or such. But the smoke of the robot is not. It's "flying" to the right.

I think you made them separated, and then placed them togheter for this art, I really don't know, because she does not have the back light of the sky around her (a nice and smooth white line surrounding her would be fine).

Again, your art is beatiful. I realy don't care if you used reference or not, because everyone uses references. :)

Keep going

02-26-2004, 03:52 PM
wonderfull work

there are really many great drawings here, but this is really outstanding

The Don
02-26-2004, 03:54 PM
Absolutely breathtaking. The work you are producing right now is probably some of the best art in the world. You are destined for fame!!

02-26-2004, 04:07 PM
please tell me that you used a photo and overpainted some parts... this is never ever freely painted, is it???

02-26-2004, 04:08 PM
I love to see traditional painting techniques applied in the digital arena. Wonderful mood and tone. The Robot has the look of these old moody Steam Engine paintings my grandfather use to hang in his office. The girl is beautiful.

Amilton Diesel
02-26-2004, 04:17 PM
Yes, you are a great talent. My grandsons will study your art in the future.

02-26-2004, 04:24 PM

02-26-2004, 04:30 PM
SPECTACULAR! Is simply the only thing I have to say about this. :)

02-26-2004, 04:34 PM
You did it again Olijosman, very nice work.

02-26-2004, 04:37 PM
That......is amazing. From texture to lighting, its perfect.

02-26-2004, 04:40 PM
my god... that skin is perfect,

02-26-2004, 04:43 PM
Okay, thats it. You are no longer allowed to touch your computer or Wacom again. You win. Contest over.

Go learn how to do something else because you've mastered this. Go on now--go learn nuclear physics of something because you're just making the rest of us look bad here.

02-26-2004, 04:44 PM
Why are you still on your computer? I said Go! I mean it!

:D Seriously dude. I'm floored. (if you couldnt tell)

02-26-2004, 04:56 PM
[i]*right-click -> Save Picture As... -> Desktop Images\WakeUpBaby_nibbledpencil.com.jpg*[i]

Incredible, inspiring and intimidating. Only crit would be that I would have loved if you had kept the cool hat she's wearin in the original character concept. I assume you ditched it because it felt too Rocketeerish?

- Jeremy (now with wet pants)

02-26-2004, 04:57 PM
Masterful job!!! unreal...

02-26-2004, 05:02 PM
Amazing, her arms and chest look photo. I cant tell the difference!!!

Man I need a tablet. I didn't realize you could do such work in photoshop.

How many layers?

02-26-2004, 05:06 PM
You are treading on a fine line between GENIUS and INSANE

02-26-2004, 05:16 PM
my gooooooddddneeessss :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

02-26-2004, 05:16 PM
wow! excellent stuff  *speechless*

02-26-2004, 05:20 PM
This is one of the best artworks I have ever seen and I agree that there should be sparks and parts flying or something, she should remain quiet and such, while the robot walking into building etc... should be sort of 'attention' eye catcher, while she remains quiet... like stuff flying so that it doesn't look like he's standing.. because the impression I get is that the robot is walking into building... although I could TRY to think it's just standing there, but it's just screaming for "i'm walking and crushing the building inside" sorta deal.

02-26-2004, 05:23 PM

02-26-2004, 05:25 PM
WOOU!!How many questions!!I will try to respond some of them!! thanks to all!

02-26-2004, 05:25 PM
I was looking at this image and, like, a big strip of masking tape smeared itself across my mouth, denying any critique....

I just sit here and CAN'T believe what my eyes are showing. Go on, eyes, show me the truth. This can't be real....

02-26-2004, 05:29 PM
Very inspiring, I think you're site is getting flooded with eyes right now. Thanks for sharing, rather than making me throw away my wacom it's art like this that makes me go,... huh - theres a NEW level to aspire to. Very nice indeed.

02-26-2004, 05:31 PM
 just perfect

02-26-2004, 05:34 PM

Wow. True greatness! If such a perfect, work of art can't maintain a 5 star rating in this forum, then what can. :applause:

02-26-2004, 06:20 PM
*Bruzundanga- The smoke follows the march line of the robot, when rising. The robot is getting up. It is not standing.
Thanks for your observations!

02-26-2004, 06:21 PM

I must say I am particular impressed with the skin on her arms, and the t-shirt, and the face of course.

02-26-2004, 06:23 PM
+Lara- GRACIAS (THANKS)

02-26-2004, 06:33 PM

The wrinkles in the shirt are perfect.
The skin on her face and arms is perfect.
The hair is perfect.

Something is maybe a little off on the perspective of the gadget in her hand, but who cares!!!

I'm in love with that girl!

and the motive is just mind-blowing!

I reckon that this is not the last we`ve heard from you!
..nor seen!

02-26-2004, 07:36 PM
The robot looks like he would be about halfway in the ground and judging by the length of the arms, those would too... a little perspective flasw. Nice painting otherwise.

02-26-2004, 07:36 PM
When do we get to see a Tut from you?

02-26-2004, 07:41 PM

02-26-2004, 09:00 PM
That was the greatest pice I have seen ever in my life. It is like you took a picture and then just draw a robot in there.....if you have done that I would feel more calm...it is so dam realistic. But I´m starting to realise thats not what you have done.

...I have no words to decribe it. But I´ll try to do it with some primitive words:blush:

Incredible work!!

02-26-2004, 09:02 PM
simply amazing!!!!

02-26-2004, 09:05 PM
Hey xasteycracker...I whanted to say that before you:D

02-26-2004, 09:05 PM
Great illustration. The tecnique is very good.

02-26-2004, 09:08 PM
This just makes me depressed.

You're amazing man.

02-26-2004, 09:10 PM
I liked the girl's expression in the concept better; she was excited about the robot. Now she just looks like she's only half paying attention...

Excellent painting skills, btw!

(I also thought the robot's legs were missing...didn't realize he's sitting up. Maybe make him not so vertical, like he's still rising?)

02-26-2004, 09:13 PM

esta de lujo....

un saludo

02-26-2004, 09:18 PM

but anyway, nice work. Very GIANT ROBO-esque... I like.

02-26-2004, 09:34 PM

In few days I will put a work in progress in my web site!!

02-26-2004, 09:39 PM

Five stars, of course!

Te sales, maño....

02-26-2004, 09:41 PM
+pearson -The robot originally is laid down .In the image it has raised half of the body.

I'm going to take my Wacom back to the shop, complaining there must be something wrong with it, it dosen't produce images as good as this.

02-26-2004, 10:00 PM
Absolutely stunning, you've got complete mastery over your craft, I'm envious

Well done mate.

I don't know what to say but I do know that this is probably the most amazing 2D image I've seen in a long, long time. Double top scores from me!

02-26-2004, 10:15 PM
This is really great. It's so realistic. I'm so impressed. What kind of tablet do you use? I really fell in love with this...impresionante.

02-26-2004, 10:33 PM
beautiful work.

1 crit, the robot would have to have nearly no legs or be on very small wheels to be at that height with the building imo. That or there is a large pair of stairs inside the building going down!

02-26-2004, 10:41 PM
Can you please show the reference picture and WIP.I want to learn how did ui create this amazing pic.

:buttrock: :buttrock:

02-26-2004, 10:47 PM
"With Digital Art the computer does all the work"
"Digital Art will never be accepted as legit"

Whoever can with a straight face safely utter these two sentences after seeing this work I salute you- your truely jaded, insane, and have zero conception of what art is-

Olijos please, please, PLEASE for the benefit of everyone here post a tutorial (your workflow, color selection, tools, layers, anything you can graciously offer us)

Great work, I'm still stunned!

This is probably the most impressive thing I've seen in a while. The attention to detail is beautiful. I'm particularly amazed by the attention you made to the fingertips of her right hand. The gloss and the fall of the light throught he nails is perfect. It's interesting that her arms seem more realistic in tone than her face. The t-shirt itself has an amazing crisp cotton look to it. The muting of the light on it's surface is stunning, even down to the small loose thread on the v-neck join (or is that my imgaination?).

I think the only thing that is missing is the motion. Your concepts have a great feel of the robot waking up, whereas the final picture looks as though he's been sitting there for a while, thinking about it. For the force of the awakening, I would thought there would have been more debris on the ground around him.

The window detail is fantastic. The dirty translunceny works extremely well.

I like it.:D

I think the baby fat on the girl is part of what makes it! she's not your regular model material but very beautiful all the same.. You and Anry... are kings of your field! probably a few more but off the top of my head you two are the best of the best.

Your artwork makes me think of the great masters..
gees i do go on..

congrats! looking forward to your next piece.

02-27-2004, 08:15 AM
No deberias haber nacido.
Como crítica ese brazo esta muy mal posicionado, no deja verle bien las tetas, que se intuyen muy bonitas. :p

02-27-2004, 08:16 AM
thanks for all your answers, again!!

some common questions:

+about the girl: she is a beautiful girl, but I have not wanted to paint the typical top model ,with perfect body and classic factions.

+with respect to the robot position : the robot is seated.

+ brushes:I have used the normal brush and an own brush for clouds and smoke

+how long? :difficult to consider...less than 3 weeks working in short whiles and complete days.I updated day to day my work in the Web when I began it!!

02-27-2004, 08:19 AM

Wonderful, wonderful work. Your Photoshop painting skills are impressive--this piece looks like an oil painting. Congratulations!

02-27-2004, 02:39 PM
a funny detail: she has the "wake up baby logo" in the control panel ! ;)

02-27-2004, 03:09 PM

02-27-2004, 03:20 PM
A quite impressive piece of digital painting. The amount of detail and the accuracy of the shading are simply amazing, their girl espeically really looks like it could be a photograph. It must have taken you a lot of time to finish this.

The expiression/body language of the girl and composition of the overall piece are very good.

Great work!

02-27-2004, 03:56 PM
i have a question, i didn't bother to read all the other posts so it might have been asked before, is the robot walking thru a boathouse or something , like is the other half of his body submerged or are his legs really short?

nevermind i just read the post where you said he's seated, great work, you should find someone to do it in 3d cuz i would love to see it done up and animated hehe.

02-27-2004, 04:11 PM
one of the most realistic work i hav seen in cgtalk so far!
damn neat !keep it up.

02-27-2004, 04:13 PM
I have the pic spread across both of my monitors, and everytime someone walks by they stop and go "Wow!! That is awesome!!"

Congrats!

great pic.

I'd love it if she was holding her pinky towards her lips, like Dr. Evil.. she just has that kind of dreamy dr. evil face :D

the reflection off the leather on the glove isn't quite up to the rest of the picture.

if only I'd be able to get into one of the art schools so I could possibly one day compare..

keep it up dude :)

02-27-2004, 08:29 PM
Awesome work... man!
Can you show the real photo reference?-- i would like to see it!

Good bye!

02-27-2004, 08:47 PM
holy $h!T!!  Your talent never ceases to amaze me! Great painting. I hope you actually print these out on canvas or something and hang them up in your studio or house cause these shouldn't be condemned to just Os and 1s on a computer screen.

02-27-2004, 10:11 PM
Did u really work on that image at 2143 by 1000 pixels? If so then wasn't it really pixelish? Like the background and such? Or did u work on it at a greater size, because the 2143 by 1000 looks as though it's been reduced from a greater scale because of all the small details. Just curious

02-27-2004, 10:14 PM

02-27-2004, 10:23 PM
+CoreyArtE - 2143 by 1000 it is the real resolution :)

02-27-2004, 11:41 PM
Yeah, what's the photo reference?
Can we see?

02-27-2004, 11:55 PM
The thing that blows me away about this image is the absolute perfection of the anatomy.
Rather than become suicidal at my lack of skills, I figure I might as well try and learn from you instead.
I can't access your site, so please exuse these questions if they are answered there.
How many layers are in this image ?
What type of Wacom do you use ( Please say a Cintiq, because I totally SUCK with my 4x5 Graphire ! ) :)
I know that you don't paint over a photo, but do you at least scan in a sketch, or do you just ....paint ?

Those of us that cannot access your site are dying to see the reference photos of this girl. Any chance you could post them here ?

Forgive my ignorance, but I noticed that the scarf is blowing in a different direction from robots smoke.
( But I know that sometimes wind swirls near the ground )
I agree about the final image needing sparks and debris ... perhaps even a little motion blur to be fully convincing.

You, Enayla, and Olijosman --- what a massive amount of talent you all have !

02-27-2004, 11:58 PM
I never even noticed that the scarf blows different from smoke!! LOL!!

Doesn't matter to me though. :)

02-28-2004, 12:15 AM

okay, are you giving hand-outs on talent because you obviously got your fair share!!

all joking aside you have a REAL gift and I can only hope that I can someday strive to paint as well as you do now.

02-28-2004, 12:25 AM
Ostras!! Esta genial tio!!!! muy buen gusto! si señor!! Lo he visto esta mañana en el curro a toda prisa, pero ahora al llegar a casa lo estoy observando trankilamente! me encanta la expresion de su cara!!!

02-28-2004, 12:30 AM
My second post on this, in the first one I just kept drooling!

To be honest, I'd have liked to see more fiery explosion like in the original concept art.. Because I know it would look even more awesome as it would give more action to the whole scene, and let the viewer know that the robot has created some mayhem there. But this is clearly THE 2d picture of the year..

The only thing that bugs me is the remote control.. In any other 2d picture, I'd have loved it. But next to the ultra-realistic girl, it looks a tiny bit cartoonish, it could use a little more texture.

Even I am angry at myself saying these, after all, this is the 2d picture of the year :)

Waaaaaait a minute here..... you are Olijosman (?).... the same guy that did that awesome vampire image ?

DAMN you're good.

I love the display of Sub-Surface-Scattering in your images.

About the angle of the smoke...., it works if you realize that the robot has just risen up, and that the smoke is just now beginning to blow away.
( The fire is blowing in the correct direction )

At my first glance, the smoke trail seemed to lead straight back .....which led me to believe that the robot was moving forward vs. in an arc.

The sketches had the smoke showing more of an arc, and it was more clear to me that the robot was sitting up.

Even your sketches are works of art.

02-28-2004, 02:08 AM
Most definetly one of the best things I have ever seen on this forum. This is so nice. I made a wallpaper out of it too. Great job.

02-28-2004, 02:45 AM
wow excellent work

02-28-2004, 06:38 AM
first of all. congratulations on a fabulous artistic rendering!

if i may criticize please from a story point of view, i have to really say i think it's a damn shame that this pic lost the energy of the dynamic!!! destruction of the railroad depot together with the girl's finger on the trigger which is conveyed by the sketches.

No matter how beautiful the rendering is, the story must stay king! and it's exactly because this piece is soooo gorgeous that i truly deep down in my heart mourn the death in the final piece of the idea that was born in the original concept.

please don't hate me.

02-28-2004, 09:02 AM
WOW! WOW! WOW!.... this is stunning......

I love the idea. You use of colour is beautiful.

Seem like qwuite a turn from your other work.

Excellent man

02-28-2004, 09:25 AM
another one already..!!..dam u..lol
awesome like always..u're a really great artist..
i really admire how u paint skin tones..they look so realistic..

anyways,i just have one little thing to say..and nitpicking of course..lol
her right arm..there's a sharp dark line around her elbow and forearm..i think it would be better if u smooth it more..
other than that..really awesome work..and who cares about the direction of the wind..lol
can't wait to see more from u..

02-28-2004, 10:20 AM
U got the key man!......woha! what a great work! a fantastic piece of art.....from colours from dimension and position of the elements....is amazing....everything works so well.....everything is so well balanced!! Amazing!

02-28-2004, 10:49 AM

+The wind: The smoke follows the movement arc of of the robot

+robot position :seated seated seateeed....:surprised

+the model:I cannot expose my models photos!!they are anonymous people. This is not professional (and they would kill me) you do not want to see the Nosferatu photo reference?I did it in a Transivania trip !!

+the movement: It is truth, the sketches have more movement.I decided to sacrifice the movement by the characters definition.

+The layers:that changes during the process.
example: Layer1-drawing in line,
multiply Layer - color base
layer3-light effects
and the special layer with my own noise!

well, thank you very much to all, again!

02-28-2004, 11:22 AM
Just wanted to say that this is one of the most impressive works I have seen in the short months I have been around this forum.

02-28-2004, 01:14 PM
As the 14 pages of people said before, super work! My own little two cents would be to make the remote control thing she is holding more analog looking, like the robot. Like have it made out of a similar color metal with an analog display (needle) rather than the LCD and give it a tube or two. But again fantastic work.

02-28-2004, 01:36 PM
Oh,so great~i love it~ last illustration ???god!

02-28-2004, 01:47 PM
me again,..

there are some errors i would like to point out in ur illustration.

her BOOBS are too low..... trust me :d you know exactly where they are:D

thats it i think

02-28-2004, 02:46 PM
quid - Of course!! The remote control has a different aspect, because it is made by her.It is not the original remote control.
The remote control has the logo "wake up baby" ,the organization name of her.

02-28-2004, 03:42 PM
Congrats sir. This picture rocks. I just wonder if your "reference material" is as charming as this girl on the illustration? uhm yeah. none of my business...
Well, mr IceCreamMan. salute!

02-28-2004, 04:53 PM
Wow, what can I say, beautiful beautiful work. This is gorgeous stuff. Boy I sorry I haven’t been keeping up with the forum this last couple day, how could I miss this! Well I got a new desktop image for the next month. I can't wait to find out more on how you produced this and what you techniques are. (that is if they're not a carefully guarded secret) ;)

Great Work,

P.S. If anyone wants it, here is the desktop I made for this image.
olijosman, I hope you don’t mind me making this image from your work and sharing it, let me know if it’s a problem. You definitely made a fan out of me today.

02-28-2004, 05:05 PM
No problem. Beauty desktop !

02-29-2004, 01:19 AM
like everyone else ahs mentioned, this is amazing

but, i have one tiny question. shouldnt one of the slits/openings for the chrome levers on her controller be vertical, so it can move the robot forward and reverse, and the other slit be horizontal for left/right movements?

02-29-2004, 02:15 AM
this is just absolutely beautiful. if there was one thing i would say thats looks weird. it would be lighting. the character and the background don't seemed to composited together with perfection like all the other great techniques u have used in this peice. the lighting of the women and the background don't seem to match up naturally. other then that i really love it.

02-29-2004, 02:17 AM

yeah he has a good point there

02-29-2004, 02:35 AM
nope, this is the kind of controller a radio control airplane would use where both sticks would have 2 axes movement.....the piece with the slot rotates like a cylinder....

02-29-2004, 02:43 AM
oh k

02-29-2004, 04:29 AM
Hmm.. okay, so will you be selling a poster?

02-29-2004, 07:33 AM
+aspiretek- it is truth!

+specs44 :the lighting of the women and the background don't seem to match up naturally.

thanks for your opinion, but in a drawing, you compose with the light too. The girl is more illuminated because she is the main character .But the light direction is the same in the scenery

02-29-2004, 07:42 AM
+Cman- is not a bad idea! this image killed my server .I have surpassed my limit of data transfer.I have expenses only!:banghead:

i am just not sure about the remote control, it looks a little flat compared to the rest.

great work.

Hey my son, It may look nice BUT puting the photo below to trace is unhealthy, your mama means is you should put your feelings and emotions into your work, the creative process is an art not a construction. mama likes my son as an artist not an Bangladash worker.

Mama doesn't understand why this is your last piece of work, oh my son, don't worry, don't be afraid, continue your work and you shall received eternal life, bless you my son.

keep praising me.

great work.

I have to disagree. I think it's right in line with the rest of the painting. Notice it's a very different color of black than the glove with which she's holding it... The stark red scarf blasting out from the other colors. The translucency of her fingers over her arm.

The more I examine this pic, the more I love it. REALLY great work!

I don't think another post with "WOW" is particularly constructive but....

Don't worry, Mother Mary is most probably just an angry faker who doesn't want to risk his/her own reputation, I guess she / he just registered a fake nick to post these stuff.

I saw her other post in the character: "asian girl, industrial", pretty much the same stuff there also. While I am writing these he/she only had 2 posts.

Mother Mary, do not lose time with stuff like these, you know where you're going if you keep it this way, we don't want to see such a figure in hell :)

03-01-2004, 11:11 AM
Yes it is beautiful as the previous 16 previous pages will attest to.
My only complaint (and it might have been brought up earlier, i just didn't read all the posts) is the pose the robot is in could be a little more dynamic. A slight twist of the upper body would look more dynamic and also clarify that he is walking through the building as the smoke coming out of his head suggests.

Other than that it's excellent rendering and atmosphere.
The volume on the girl's arms feels real.

03-01-2004, 11:58 AM

I am sure you have heard it 100's of times so far, but, very impressive work! You are definitely in the realm of The Masters.

From one CG artist to another, would you mind helping me with a few questions?

1. What resolution do you work at in Photoshop (72, 300, 600)?
2. What size monitor do you have (17, 19, 21, bigger)?
3. Would you be so kind as to "briefly" share some of your methods (brush styles, blending methods, layering, colour palette, etc.)?

I need some hope. Much appreciated,

William S.

This person was insulting of the beautiful work displayed there.

This idiot is nothing more than a forum TROLL, probably a self-conscious, talentless jerk who likes to irritate people, GRATEFUL for the anonymity of the internet, where one can hide behind a made-up handle. He/she won't be around long.

03-01-2004, 02:58 PM
Since friday when I saw the picture first I had to com back 12 times only to look again at it. Not only because of the incredible details but also because of the mood - it is so inspiring. THIS is real art!
Thank you olijosman!!!

i wish this never goes off the front page. it might be perverse, but i like seeing her face every time i open up cgtalk. you've managed to make her look gorgeous without resorting to the perfect shape, barbie-doll, stahlberg look, and i bow to you for that.
i'm not even gonna start talking about the robot. . . my brain exploded when i first saw that monster.
a gorgeous piece, through and through.
good job, man.
