hi i 'm new on mental ray and i try to render some coloured

caustics on my scene How can i do that ?

It's really quite easy. Just change the specular colour of the photon shader (caustics is all about specular reflection and refraction so best to keep diffuse low or off). You can map it with a texture if needed. Here is a quite example (photon energy is twice that of light energy to show the effect more clearly). It shows both refractive and reflective caustics on various DGS shaders.

Yes bmcaff is right,

If you add a DGS_Material_Photon shader to the Photon slot of your material's Shading Group node, choosing the colour of the Specular attribute will set the colour of the caustics.

And yes, adding textures can create some great caustic effects!
