i have been working on this for a long time... well it seems that way. Same model done in 3 different apps. Not untill i found LW could i ever get the model this far. It is very near finished, so i thought i would put it up. Now the scene objects are far from finished, so plz no comments on them! A few things to note are the fact that it is not meant to be a toon, or realistic... somethingf in between. Also the muscularature is not realistic and i am ok with it so far... it is close, but making it more accurate would mean much more poly's.:( This i don't want! Also the skeleton is in the works, but it is my first character model, and i am having problems getting it right. Trial and error. Anyhow he is based on one of my dogs, and when i get those bones right he will be chasing many virtual squirrels, and hunting of mailmen.
be gentle it is my first time....;)

Looks good, but it is hard to crit the dog from this angle. Show us some pictures zooming in on the dog so that we can see some more details.
There seems to be something wrong with lightning, the dog's right rear leg is totaly black.

looks like an average dog. maybe you could make him a bit more muscular

did you use reference?, since Pitbulls are more stout and muscular and defined much more ;)
unless of course they haven't been fed properly :(

Thanks for looking at this!I have some better pictures for you to see now. I agree the lighting was way off in the first image i posted. I have done all the textures using gradient maps anf weight maps It is a good way to get a quick feeling of how the model is forming up, but i am planing on making the textures more detailed eventualy. Now that i look a little bit more comparing the model and the influance, it seems for starters his head is still too big.
The idea of more muscles for a bigger "stronger looking" dog, is not what i am after. I dont even want to enter a dog debate, so i have just also included some images of my insperation. Jack is a 42 pound American Pitbull Terrier, he is not as stocky as the dog u pictured Dragon. That looks more like a Staffordshire bull terrier, which is closely related, but not quite the same. Jacko is more of a lean machine, with bountless energy
as i see it now his head is too big, and textures are ready for work... it never ends does it? That is the fun of this stuff though!:D
