View Full Version : crowd sim with particle. individual particle manipulation?

i have a big crowd (roughly 200 soliders) here, basically it's an army charging forward, and there's this guy that's running INTO the crowd and knocking them down as he goes along.

so is it possible for me to take control of the ones that are supposed to fall down the moment they come in contact with the other guy?

or do i have to do it the HARD way?

using 7.5 here.

Not sure in 7.5, but in 8 you will be able to manipulate individual points. Maybe search for a plugin or lscript that might do it in 7.5.

It think it would depend on how youre animating the crowd.
I think you could set up the guys that get collided with a bit differently so that they can be animated to fall down.

A fellow named 'BRAD HERMAN' once developed a crowd simulation plugin for lightwave.

maybe you could look him up? try and track down his email..
