Started for the Alienware challenge but not finished in time. Actually I think that a transition is missing on the left part of the image between the rock and the alien "skin" ( and with this camera shot the volumes are not easy to read on the left part too)...Let me know what you think.

Damn. That looks pretty awesome!!!
At first I hadn't noticed the blue pillar on the right; I actually think the image is better without it.

Very nice, it definitely looks very alien! The vent-like structures are interesting, makes it look like there's something going on under the surface.
The only crit I could see was the cloud formation near the top of the image. It tends to draw your eye a bit, when the focus should be on the landscape. Most of the structures in the landscape flow horizontally, if that formation is removed the sky will echo that horizontal pattern more.

JoeBananas : About the sky, yep its true and I havn't noticed it. But it doesn't disturb the image too much in my opinion.
