View Full Version : Depth of field

i want to add depht of field to an animation but there is the following problem:
i'm using a renderer which cannot extract the z-channel with the rpf file. as a workaround i rendered the main picture in a non rpf file and switched the renderer so i could save out rpf-files with the z-info. so there are two picture files, the main picture file and a rpf-file with the z-channel. how can i tell the depht of field operator to use the z-channel from the rpf file and apply the blurring to the mail file?

Import the two files into combustion as seperate layers.

Apply a brightness and contrast operator to your Z-depth layer. This will be used to control the intensity of the Z-bluring.

Apply a compound Blur operator to your animation layer and link the Z-blur as the secondary input to the operator.

Your animated layer should now be blurred based on the values of the Z-depth file.

Just turn off the Z-depth layer in the workspace panel.
