Is it possible to render a object in max, and animation, but the background should be transparent, what is the correct terminology.

Please i need yer help on this one.

dunno if still needed, but could u please specify more what u want to do?

better if u have some screenshots....

but maybe you mean something like "ALPHA CHANNEL".
when u render images or animations (as frames e.g. tiff, targa)
you can save these with an alpha channel, this means when u open this image in photoshop u will have a mask of/around the rendered image and the rest (background) will be white/transparent , so u could put another image as background for example. the same works similar for animations in after effects or premiere.

TGA files, i forget sometimes, and yes i hear its called alpha channels, it's all very new to me
