Incredible model and Texturing. I sent you an e-mail btw BLURyu.

01-20-2004, 06:54 AM
giid stuff, awsome textures.. I need to learn how to paint them like that some day =|

01-20-2004, 08:03 AM
Hi your character looks real great. Really nice ideas.

just a little thing I think he could need. Maybe some hairs on the back or some scars.

Keep up the work

01-20-2004, 01:32 PM
The quality of the textures is stunning! Awesome work!

01-20-2004, 02:07 PM
Great work man. Sweet modelling. You've got some wicked texture skills there.

I kinda agree with Honza on adding some scars.

What company you work for?

01-20-2004, 04:44 PM
one of the best work i'v seen latly

got more stuff to show?

01-20-2004, 05:35 PM
Nice stuff. Good model and the textures are top notch.

01-20-2004, 06:17 PM
Nice work, although you don't really see that it's a devil.

01-20-2004, 06:54 PM
Fantastic texturing work!

I agree he's not exactly a usual type of devil, but that is a great character you've done.

01-20-2004, 07:01 PM

a deserved FRONT PAGE for this most excellent lo-poly character.

01-20-2004, 07:22 PM
Nice work.

Nice control on the colour parameters. Good luck on the jod.

Has the armpits lost some shading in the uv?

01-20-2004, 07:31 PM
Where can I get some of those pants?

01-20-2004, 07:52 PM
Amazing textures!!!

01-20-2004, 08:02 PM
To give some real crits: I don't like how the face turned out. I don't know what's wrong with it, but I just don't like it. I think it's the expression, not sure though.

The texturing and modelling is very well done.
Props up jo!

01-20-2004, 08:35 PM
Excellent texture, i would guess its a devil based on Chinese mythology rather than your typical western devil.

Do you have any other material completed? With the fighting devil as a basis you'll probably want to build a portfolio of material that you can contact games companies with. Good luck.

01-20-2004, 08:41 PM
I agree with Leigh, those textures look awesome. Definitely a front page game model.

01-20-2004, 09:06 PM
Really nice work! But the way the feet just flatten out at the bottom looks weird.

01-20-2004, 09:25 PM
Very cool. He would certainly make a nice addition to any video game. The textures are great, particularly the metalic bits, though you can't knock that skin. Nice work!

01-20-2004, 09:38 PM
Top notch low poly model!

It's definately more of an Asian style devil.

I'm curious about the cloth in the front that hangs over his crotch. Will the texture appear on the back of the cloth as well? I wasn't able to tell by your screens. I was wondering how you modeled that part.

01-20-2004, 09:48 PM
this is an incredible real time 3d model

the design the texturing are too great !!!

maybe just a little little thing the metallic part are too black you should add some more shininess

but i really like it

01-20-2004, 09:48 PM
Very nice texture work. I like the look.

01-20-2004, 10:00 PM
As everyone has stated, superb texturing but I can't believe it's so low in the poly's at 1564 tri's :jawdrop:...

01-20-2004, 11:07 PM
512x512!!!! 1564 tri's !!!! Incredible work..looks really clean and pro. very impressive.
btw i like the spine poky-outy-thing it looks cool.

01-20-2004, 11:18 PM
awesome. Hardly visible it's lowpoly. you should submit it for expose dude

01-21-2004, 12:29 AM
WOw I cant believe how the textures make him look like he has more polies. Great Job.

01-21-2004, 02:26 AM
incredible texture.

01-21-2004, 04:37 AM
Very nice model. You've done a great job detailing the arm muscles, especially the triceps.

Did Arnold convince California to succeed from the United States?

01-21-2004, 05:02 AM
very impressive

01-21-2004, 07:49 AM
Thanks for everyone's praise and advice!

Being a 3d artist, I work in a game company in China now.I have done the reeltime 3d work near 3 years.
I am good at modeling and drawing the texture.I hope I can get a job in U.S, Cnnada, or Europe~~~~:)

This model is really only 1564 triangle, because of the specification of this subject,it only needs one expression per model , so I didn't put more polygons on the face.I drew more details on the texture. If you can make the edges of the model matching what you drawing on the texture, your model will look like it has more polygons.

01-21-2004, 10:25 AM
very cool!

i like the character design...texture...everything...and also the asymmetry of the character.

how long did it take to finish this character?

01-21-2004, 10:50 AM
Hey there,

Really nice. REALLY NICE.

The skin tones for your character are spot on, and I can't really see any errors in the shading or anything like that. Perhaps they are right, some scars, or some more blemishes on the skin: maybe even some liver spots on the back of the head.

Keep up the brilliant work - you'll get the job you want some day! If you can't then I most certainly can't!

01-21-2004, 11:28 AM
wow, nice games model
texture map is awsome also

just one Q.
what ever happens to that garment covering his private parts when he jumps?

nice work

01-21-2004, 11:56 AM
When I create something like that...

...I will shave my head bold and go walk on the streets without underware and never care anymore what other people say :)

01-21-2004, 01:49 PM
You low poly guys have really great texturing skills !
This is a great art.

01-21-2004, 02:54 PM
Wow!! That磗 a great job you got.

Extremely good texture磗 painting skills.

Looking forward to see more jobs of yours.

01-21-2004, 03:42 PM
Great work, the texture and model is very nice.

01-21-2004, 03:49 PM
Amazing! He is so cool and look to be a very nasty creature, makes me want to fight with him already. Excellent design and textures.

01-21-2004, 05:38 PM
Outstanding texture work and the model is really good as well, especially considering how few polys you used!

It's nice to see some low poly/game art get posted up on the front page (we don't see enough of it).

01-21-2004, 06:47 PM
hey BLURyu, awsome works, i would definately hire you if i own a game company. :) keep up the good job.

01-21-2004, 07:34 PM
very good modeling job and outstanding texturing.

01-21-2004, 09:17 PM
very good charactr modeling with low poly

01-21-2004, 09:41 PM
Hey can you recommend any good books or tutorials on how to texture like that?

01-21-2004, 10:16 PM
Just picked my mouth off the floor!, Holy #$%@ for a such a low poly count, your texturing is amazing!

how about a tutorial on the making of the texture :).

01-21-2004, 11:04 PM
Bluryu did you use cylinder unwrap for the arms?
Its the area that causes the most problems for me.

01-28-2004, 03:43 AM
Thank you all!
It took me about 40 hours to make the model and draw the texture.

I always break the model at first, then select a part of meshs to use the plane unwarp to every pat of the model.
 :buttrock:

02-14-2004, 12:40 PM
Great work and very sweet textures!

06-28-2004, 07:25 AM

07-02-2004, 02:56 PM

07-19-2004, 08:03 AM
the texture is so good. you rock~ :)

07-21-2004, 08:43 PM
Wonderful project and brilliant textures so it doesnt look like a low poly. :buttrock:

09-13-2004, 08:01 AM
Fantastic work, great texture work.

However, from what I have seen of games, you could add quite a bit more detail and still be fine. Of course I could be wrong on that. I am only just starting out.

But great work.

Though I don't care for the almost butt showing part. Full pants preferred.
