01 January 2004, 01:12 AM

01 January 2004, 01:16 AM
The vids are probably removed from the server, due to heavy traffic.
Its all your fault Slurry.

01 January 2004, 01:20 AM
nope, no luck either

it says that it's a file that quicktime doesn't understand

01 January 2004, 02:06 AM
The 480 version worked fine here.

01 January 2004, 03:27 AM
yeah, worked for me too, they must have fixed somethin'. cuts off kinda strangely though... but I guess that's why it's a sneak peak.

I really like the character designs. It's nice to see something in a totally different style from Pixar.

From a techie standpoint, that wool looked awesome!!

01 January 2004, 08:13 AM
Locally it does not work in IE but works fine in Mozilla Firebird.

Moral of the story: use Firebird.

01 January 2004, 08:51 AM

right click/save target as if you have the direct link, the web plugin doesn't work in IE, so you have to use Netscape and Opera, should work fine.

Wow, that looks amazing. Very funny too.

01 January 2004, 02:34 PM

Yep! That's the right url for the quicktime feed!
I tried to open it through the getright browser but all it got is the "capsule" of the .mov file, not the whole vid!
Past that long url on your IE nav address so the video loads correctely!

01 January 2004, 03:24 PM

01 January 2004, 09:34 PM
is it hard to get a job at Pixar? very hard? impossible?

01 January 2004, 09:41 PM
nothing is impossible ,

but its obviously very hard

01 January 2004, 09:43 PM
is there anyone in this forum that works in Pixar?

01 January 2004, 10:59 PM
I met a guy who worked there for six years. He was there from Toy Story up til Monsters Inc.

He left because there was no room for advancement. People have to die before you can move up the ladder sort of thing.

But that would definitely be my dream job.

01 January 2004, 11:02 PM
how many people work there? im talking only about the 3D Artists.

is it that hard to get there?

01 January 2004, 11:21 PM
I figure I am going to walk in and sit down in there studio one day on a computer and start modeling. If someone asks I'll be like, GET ME MY COFFEE, WHY ARE YOU TAKING SO LONG TO GET ME MY COFFEE?!?! And they will figure I'm new or something.

I would like to work there. It helps that I can think of great ideas like that. Plus I am good friends with most of them. They call me VertiSteve.

01 January 2004, 11:28 PM
cool : D

do u think i can interview some1 from pixar? im doing a project for english class on 3D Animation

01 January 2004, 11:51 PM
CG Char had a Q&A session with Bobby Beck (a Pixar animator) a little while ago.
Some very good questions were's an interesting read.

01 January 2004, 12:06 AM
Thanks for the link Phearielord! :D

KWAK - I just wanted to say that your 'title' is probably my second most used Peter Griffin quote of all time :D

The first naturally being a quick and quiet uttering of '...y'bastud'. Usually at the end of every sentence.

01 January 2004, 12:06 AM
thanks Phearielord, didnt read all but i saw enough

you guys think i can interview an animator from pixar?

can you go to pixar and learn there or only work there?

i have so many wuestions  but if i wont ask i wont know :)

01 January 2004, 12:20 AM
I dont think you can go and learn there, but once you get a job there, they have Pixar University.
There they have a number of courses that employees can take, like sculpting, writing etc. to keep them inspired.

I think it's at CalArts where they have a Pixar class....where ppl from Pixar come and teach the students.....

I guess the best way to get into pixar is to do good stuff...and then send in your demoreel....

if you read the bobby beck Q&A, you'll see that you interview is quite a long process....and from what i've heard, you get interviewed more than once....
I think one guy had to go to 6 interviews before he got the job

SpiritWalker, you can email Victor Navone ( or Carlos Baena (, who are both animators at pixar.
You can ask them if they'll do an interview for ya :)

01 January 2004, 12:25 AM

thats the source of the file if u are having errors then copy paste that to the browser all is good then

slightly cheap reading there source but it fixed the problem

01 January 2004, 12:25 AM

01 January 2004, 12:37 AM
I found the boundin' link and all the sneak peak movies of the incredibles worked fine with the links off pixar's site (in IE) after i downloaded the latest quicktime (ver 6.5)

01 January 2004, 01:22 AM
Now if they could only make it a three hour long full length feature and deliver it to us tonite ,all would be perfect.Love the color palette, style, and humor. But it's expected,it's Pixar.

01 January 2004, 01:39 AM
Speaking about working at Pixar.....I know alot of ex-pixar people....and they say same thing about advancement....people have been there forever and its super tough to move up or advance one ever leaves....they see it as a job for life and as such its very very political....alot of people I know didnt like it there very much...they go work at Pixar for a movie or two....get it on there resume and go somewhere else and make more money...Pixar is known for paying low.....

but if your into grown up kids riding scooters all means go work there :wip:

01 January 2004, 03:39 AM
OMG. What a tease. I did not see that it was a sneak peek. Pixar you guys are #1.

01 January 2004, 04:46 AM
Hi All
I just wanted to brag about the fact that I saw this short and a rough version of the incredibles already...

Neener Neener Neener

They are both great and very original!!!

01 January 2004, 06:10 AM
bah, it was ok :hmm:

01 January 2004, 07:26 AM
Both were ok? Or was "Boundin" just Ok?

01 January 2004, 07:30 AM
Boundin was ok, I mean I really really like the character design but everything els is just OK with the short , animation , rendering , modeling... etc. etc. is JUST ok, not like "WOHHA ITS GODS WORK !!!!" blablabla....

01 January 2004, 08:41 AM
it sounds like Pixar is a "nazi" place to work.

01 January 2004, 09:53 AM
God, i still have so much to learn. Everyday i animate its like starting a fresh! check my arcs, check my arcs,,check my...

Pixars just perfect, and i'd love to work there. Atm i think i would be to scared, need a few more years under my belt.

01 January 2004, 10:29 AM

01 January 2004, 02:56 PM
Am I the only one who thinks this thing is irritating and fruity?

01 January 2004, 01:52 AM
Love it.So very cute. Thanks for the links to all.:buttrock:

01 January 2004, 09:45 AM
Fruity...mmm thats what i love about it.

01 January 2004, 08:00 PM
Hey people... if your having a hard time trying to see the videos at pixar's site, then you should go here

This will test your Active x plugin, and if your missing it, then you have the option of installing it.. and if its allready installed, then it fixes it.

BTW, has the Bounding teaser in their site, hres the link

And, i LOVE pixar, my wish is to learn from these people, THEN make my own movies :D... or make my own movies with their fluid animations and colors, etc :P
