Well, as you know. 3D artists love robots.

Here's my latest creation. Created mainly to practice multipass rendering and compositing.

Some info:

Standard lights used.
Reflector cards + env map used to get nice reflections.

Reference image from the book "1000 robots, spaceships & other tin toys", Teruhisa Kitahara & Yukio Shimizu, published through Taschen.

Anyway, hope ya like it!

Very good, I love it! I like the lighthing and reflections look great.. keep up the good work..


PS. love the subtle dirt touches you added..

great work!
But he looks a bit like he is hovering over the ground. Maybe it will be better, if the shadow at his feets is less at the right side and more centered. Or perhaps the shadow should be a bit darker.
But that is really only a minor point to criticise! :thumbsup:
