Ok, letīs have a go at this. Iīve decided upon Anakaris. Apparently his from Dark Stalkers, but I first encountered him in Marvel vs Capcom 2. So thatīs where Iīll get my inspiration.

Cool choice of character, and great to see you're along for the ride.

Great start already.

I would say the fingers need to be bigger, but I say pics of him with smaller fingers. The references with bigger fingers looked better imo.

i also think the fingers need to be a bit more chunky too! << i had a look around there for more pictures of this guy but didnt have any luck.

Hey, all of you guys. Iīm sorry to say I wonīt finish this dude in time. Since the loss of my wacom (well it wasnīt really mine) I havenīt been able to do any deescent texture work :)
Maybe Iīll finish him up later, when Iīve baught a new one....

That really sucks, this was bound to become one awsome piece. I also borrowed my wacom about a week ago, and I ain't givin' it back to the rightful owner!

So I bought a Wacom :) Iīm having some trouble with it though... itīs not quite working as it should :(
So now Iīm gonna finish this guy. Not sure if Iīll make it in time for the deadline though, but who cares.
Anyway hereīs a little progress:

Good to see you in the contests again, you're a talented lad!

If I had gone in on this one, Darkstalkers would've been an incredibly tempting game to do...

(I was thinking of Lord Raptor)

Great work on this item, its an excellent representation of the original reference images (although I must admit I cant say I've heard of this character before).

I am wondering if the feet are still a little bit too small? They appear quite wide and flat in the original reference images.

Just wrapped this up. Weighting is not 100% complete, still got some tweaks to do. But Iīd say heīs done.

You work really fast!

Looks good to me, fire it up into the submission thread (if you haven't already done so)

If only you chose Morrigan instead, she's the best from that game :)

*edit: if i were to change anything, i would add some more sides to the braces around his legs. With the gold being so shiny and eye-catching, it brings your eyes right there, then you realize it's low poly. Else the rest of the body really blends very well and doesn't jump out as saying 'low-poly'.

Hi ivars, i personally liked your submission the most. i thought you did a really great job of making/texturing him. i have been playing darkstalkers since sega saturn, and i own 2 imported darkstalkers games for my sega saturn still. anyway i liked everything about your model.

Thatīs a good point. Theyīre kinda rough.
I havenīt actually played Darkstalkers. Only MVC2. Gotta try it out now, seems to be a fun game : )

if you unwraped each side of the model separately, maybe you can ad some dirt to the wraps and make one side of the model slightly dirtier than the other. I don't know, it looks really good, just too clean and uniform in the middle. Or maybe his middle is too muted and his mask and boots are too saturated. good job though!
