I've discovered (and that's only discovered because i've been living in ignorance), that manipulating SubD's in standard mode is significantly faster than doing so through the poly proxy. While i have no intention of actually modeling this way, I would like to rig my character in this manner.
However I do not wish to paint weights on the sub'd surface, and since the poly version is a 1:1 correspondance to the 0 level subD, I am hoping to be able to transfer the painted weights.
I just tried Exporting and Importing the weights, but they don't seem to have caught.
Can anyone give me some advice on this?
