Wow, even though this hasn't been up for too long, I'm suprised no one has commented yet.

Combine the excellent brushwork and great image quality with the fact that you can't go wrong with pirates, and I think it's front page material. Excellent job!

TuLe: This work will print in Russian game magazine. Have asked to wait a little, that for a cover was a new picture. I should wait when he will begin to be on sale. Heh... Though I very much would like to place it on my site. :)))

Excuse, if I write funny. I yet do not understand, how it is necessary to write correctly. :) But I quickly study.

Amazing Art you present:bowdown:
I'm too novice to critic such a great work. Viewing these images alone is a great deal to observe and learn. I've also checked your other art pieces. They are all beautiful too. From now on your work is on top order of my favourites list.

GREAT

Max stars from my side

01-11-2004, 12:14 PM
I'm still staring your great artwork. But I have questions( might be stupid): Do you complete all from start digitally or do you sketch initially on paper to scan in? Can you give a two line overview to your workflow?Powers of Painter as compared to Photoshop? How do you manage to paint such large area on a small screen etc?

I understand that its just sheer amount of observational skill and practice but do share some technical advice if anything a begginer needs to know.{cause I don't get the language,(guess is Russian) the articles have on your space}

01-11-2004, 12:19 PM
im amazed... again. youre so productive and still keep the superb quality. i can only say that youre a true source of inspiration at the scene and a fantastic example of what talent enhanced with hard work can bring forth. unique style too...

She would look like Sandra Bullock only if you beat her up pretty badly (which I guess no one can :=)

She is much better than Sandra , I mean, come on :=)

No offense on Sandra fans! :)

01-11-2004, 05:16 PM
Oh I read about it in the comments and found the speed paint video from google (there was no clear link from Anry's entry page) for those interested, it is at:
Anry's Speed Paint Video (http://www.anry.ru/gallery/tyrael_knight/tyrael_knight_eng.htm)

More importantly, the content, look and feel, and overall appeal of this piece is what makes it really stand out!

Fantastic digital pirate art, and thanks for the close-up, that too is very interesting!

01-12-2004, 02:22 AM

but the character is he or she arr.....????

01-12-2004, 02:37 AM
u silly cutie...focus at the part of the middle body, ok?

she's jst huge size compare to asian female.

I hate to see ppl doin so well. It makes me feel like i should find another career fo god's sake.

p/s: Anyway, issit "Painter" got better Brush stroke to paint digital art comparing to "Adobe Photoshop"? I saw more n more PPL using Painter all these days. N most of the artwork is incredibly done. Or it is still depends on our "Mouse sensitivity" & "Hand movement" or Techniques?
Pls let me knw Which vers of Painter is the nicest? Thx everybody!

01-12-2004, 02:41 AM
great work :buttrock:

01-12-2004, 02:54 AM

It's nice to see someone paint a female (a pirate even!) and not show unnecessary cleavage.

Not to mention the painting is beautiful, you are a inspiration.

Hey dinodog. I'm not Anry but I know for sure that he is rather busy at the moment so i'll answer for him (Gosh i hope he won't kill me for that... heh). So let's go. Anry prefer Painter ver. 7. He says its because the 7th version has "more friendly" interface... but it is a matter of habit i think. since there's no serious improvements or losses in Painter ver. 8 I'm using it and quite happy with it. Best regards.

01-16-2004, 08:47 AM
Absolutely Magnficiant !!!

01-17-2004, 06:20 PM
I'm a big fan of your work, i love this painting, but i have to confess that your joker is still my favourite ;)

I'm new to digital painting, and i'd really like to progress...
I would like to know how you work, how do you build the midtones? what type of brush do you use? any tips and tricks you use a lot ?

I hope i'm not boring you, but i'd really like to progress, so thx already...

xvampire, you say you saw some video tutorial, where could i get them plz??

01-17-2004, 06:56 PM

It seems to me that Anry makes use of Round Camelhair Brush (Oils) for painting... ;) And Just Add Water for Blending...
Now 'bout video someone asked. Here u can get speed painting video, Painter 7 Script and TechSmith codec and player for video.

I can't remember now, but I think this one was the first of your artworks I have seen. Only think I can remember exactly was the feeling I had when I have discovered all the details - I was freezed to the bone, because it looked so insane to me.

Still I am returning to watch and explore this artwork bucause it giving me sort of inspiration to my photographs and my paintings. Hope one day you will return again.
