Brunt for Q3
Polycount: 1233
Inspired by the work of Travis Charest
WILDCATS Issue 4 Page 2 (
WILDCATS Issue 4 Page 3 (

Iíve been getting my home machine ready for contract work so I decided to play around a bit and get another character done for the Quake 3 mod DH, Martinez, Meat and I are working on (sparingly). Iím going to try and put a little time in on his texture each day during my lunch hour.

As with Bunker he will be released for Quake 3 so please feel free to create a skin for possible release in his model pack. We will need a blue, a red, and one additional original Skin. Textures must be 256x256. Again the goal is to make sure he looks as if he fits into the Quake 3 Universe.
See bunker model for examples (

Have fun!

Nice sunburn :)

About the model - well only one crit - his calf in front and back view. It really should have some more definition, instead of being just a simple cylinder.

Anyway GJ.

incredible... love all your stuff, bobo. looking forward to seeing the rest.

01 January 2004, 08:13 AM

01 January 2004, 02:55 PM

great work man! I went to your website and your textures are simply amazing. Are you only doing contract work, or do you want to find full time work?

01 January 2004, 07:24 PM
It's about time for you to do a new timelapse video, while you're "fooling aroud".

01 January 2004, 08:01 PM
Awsom work on the texture!!

01 January 2004, 05:50 PM
iam waiting 4 an update.....

01 January 2004, 01:05 AM
bitchin! Common cgtalkers get skinnin this.....

01 January 2004, 10:25 PM
Cool stuff as usual Bobo but especially phenomenal given the polycount. I'm lovin' that skin Dur23. The details on legs really hide the fact that they're soo simple. Keep up the good work;)
And I second the video timelapse... ;)

01 January 2004, 12:13 AM
Fantastic stuff as always. Dur23, you've done a bang-up job with that skin, too.
Polycount: 1233
And here everyone was complaining about the original 3000-tri limit in the gameart competition. ;)

01 January 2004, 12:23 AM
policount 1233 : it's not the count that matters, it's what you do with it that counts! LOL

yeah, bob's done an awsome job on the model too.

I'm not complaining, but you ARE you talking about Bobo here.... ;)

Maybe if you spread this shit out, we already got a game modeling competition/participation going on now. Can only do so much at once. In addition to real work.

I really hate it when Bobo says that he's just "fooling around" when he shows us these brilliant skins :(

01 January 2004, 06:52 AM
heh, thanks guys!
Well here is a small update. I still have a long ways to go

Dur: mr. Rockstar: looking great! Can't wait to see the final product.

Hello Bobo,

Can i ask you a question?
Could you post some guidelines for the UV map coordinates for the head? I'm trying to learn how to map a head and the face goes ok but the transition to the back is difficult. You seem to be really good at that. I would like to learn how you make the layout that we can see in the tga.

01 January 2004, 03:39 PM
Looking good Bobo. I kinda liked the tattoo head version better. The meat popsicle is very good though, lol, so good that I was eating a doughnut and lost my appetite lol. Good work as usual!

01 January 2004, 06:48 PM
Great work man, nice overall colour theory! nothing glaring at all, very balanced indeed!!

Looking forward to your next update.
